How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only issue was no hairdryer supplied that I asked for one afternoon & didn’t get until the next day after asking another two times.
Fabulous location, outstanding sea views. We booked the 2bed deluxe, stayed in 10E. Was a well equipped, comfortable & lovely unit. Balcony was great, Altho lost sun by lunchtime. If you want all day sun & sea views maybe ask for an A unit? Bus stop right outside to get to anywhere. Make sure you purchase a Go card from either the tram stop or newsagents as they don’t accept cash.

Service from staff at reception was a little below average, could learn some skills in customer service, a smile costs nothing. Asked for some extra toilet paper 2 days before leaving didn't want to have to buy more for an adult family of 4, had to ask again next day, seemed like this was a huge issue and still took another 3 hours for it to come and had to pay for it, by then had gone out a brought more which we didn't need another 4 rolls.
Excellent location between Surfers and Broadbeach, with an awesome view out to sea.

Third bedroom was more like another lounge with sliding doors so no good for blocking noise from lounge area & bed was a fold out couch at ground level. Wouldn’t be good for anyone elderly. Not enough lounge seating for 6. Just needed another lounge chair or two.
Fabulous location with outstanding views. Clean & spacious. Comfy beds & decent showers. Stayed in 12E which had just been fully renovated. Beautiful unit tastefully decorated. Bus stop at door to go to either the oasis or pacific fair or to surfers. Tram a 700 metre walk away. Staff friendly, helpful & responsive to minor issues.

The second bedroom light didn’t work, and the sliding door was broken. I also could never get a hold of any staff. I tried calling MULTIPLE times, emailing, and messaging through the Booking.com app. I didn’t get a response to anything.
The view was amazing and the suite itself was wonderful.

The property was run down and outdated, needs an upgrade. The couch has rips in it. A latch on one of the windows in the bedroom was broken so through the night could feel a cool breeze in the room. Also the outside sounds were loader from this window. Fine during the day but through the night it affected sleep.
The property was very spacious and loved the views of both the beach and the mountains as our apartment was on a corner. The property was also clean.

The staff at the reception were not friendly. Had no interest in providing information about the nearby area as we were the first tike travellers to gold coast. Extra linens and utensils provided were dirty. They need to supervise each thing before checking in the customers. Lounge furniture was very uncomfortable too.
The size of the apartment, the view and the amenities were perfect.

Nearest supermarket (Coles or Woolworths) was a short drive away but too far to walk if hot or carrying much

The aircon automatically turns off so in the middle of the night I had to get up and turn it on from the main switch in the living room.
This apartment had everything we needed! It was nice & clean, the beds were super comfortable, it had a nice view of the beach, my kids absolutely loved the outdoor and indoor pools and we loved how close were to the beach, the reception area and right through the hotel lobby smells amazing, it has a vending machine with yummy treats. It’s by far our favourite holiday stay on the Gold Coast. We will definitely be back soon! Thank you Surfers Aquarius

The settee was not fit for purpose. The room was worn & tired. The Wi-Fi was not not consistent but may have been due to weather conditions. Overall needs some TLC

Cleanliness of apartment! Needed a good clean especially the bathrooms. Outdoor furniture was really old and I didn't even want to sit on them as they looked dirty. Dishwasher had a broken handle so really hard to open and the was a cook plate that didn't work. Kitchen needed a good clean as well.
