The cottage was beautiful. We loved the dim lighting and gentle music as we arrived; it really set the scene for us. The view was lovely and we had such a wonderful stay. The bed was so luxurious we really didn’t want to leave.

The rain stopped us fully enjoying the little seated area out the back full length glass door.

This place is so peaceful, once through the door you feel very private. Very inviting and warm feeling. A lovely atmosphere. The bed, I can not describe how comfortable this was. I wanted to take home with me. All the added details, throw rugs, scented candles, fire wood, board games, novels to read, dvds, local pamphlets, artworks on the walls are thoughtfully arranged. The breakfast previsions are wonderful. So much thought has gone into our comfort. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A small issue was the trees were a little overgrown, hindering the view, which I can imagine its a little difficult to tidy up due to the placement of the cottage. Another was cobwebs/spiderwebs, quite a number had built up in corners, across the ceiling and in windows.

The whole stay was quite comfortable, a very lovely homely feeling, facilities all worked a treat and the bed was larger than we had expected. Wonderful escape from the noise of the city we needed.

Everything was wonderful. From the moment we opened the door we were made to feel at home. The decor was simple but perfect. The king bed was fantastic, perfect in every way.

As a luxury BnB it would’ve been nice to have access to laundry facilities, and whilst the bathrobes are a lovely touch they’re too small to tie up around two average sized people.

Gorgeous little cottage, very well equipped and great location. Lovely little view from the back doors I could sit there for hours. Very comfy bed and bath. Amazing breakfast included with bacon and eggs!

What's not to like. The king size bed was super comfortable and kitchen was well equipped and fridge stocked with enough breakfast items for our 3 night stay.

Not a major problem but couldn't play our own movies on USB stick as although a big screen TV it was an older plasma set about 13 yrs old. Might be time for an updated smart TV.

Wonderful couples retreat with fit-out of a very high standard. Because of it's peaceful location (about 3-4 klms out of Montville) you need a car for easy access. More than ample breakfast provisions were supplied for our 2 night stay and even supplied some port for a cool night. The view of the valley below and hills in the distance was very relaxing and even more so when mist/cloud rolled in. Wi Fi worked perfectly. Will highly recommended to friends/relatives and hope to stay again in the winter season to take advantage of the log fire.

Better curtains or blinds to block out the early morning sun would have made it easier to sleep in.

Great breakfast and lovely view. We really enjoyed the birds and the peace and quiet. It was close to town but with all of the benefits of being in the bush. The outdoor setting was a perfect place to relax. The port was lovely.

There was nothing we didn't like.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Avenue at Montville Cottage! Margaret had thought of everything...from matches for the candles provided, beautiful fresh flowers, bubble bath for the lovely free-standing bath and a wide variety of breakfast provisions to suit different tastes. It was a very peaceful and private location down a quiet country road, with a view of the valley, accompanied by various birds popping by! The bed would have to be the most comfortable we have ever slept in! We want to stay again next year in Winter, so we can enjoy the fire!
