The hostel is a bit old, there are few toilets and showers and the kitchen is very small. Also very loud during the night, but we were advised about it when checking in

this place is real party place. friday and saturday is really loud due to club music. you cannot sleep till 3 or 4 in the morning. if you are keen, this is best place if you are looking for something quiet and peaceful place, this is nightmare. anyway i enjoyed my stay.

they clean everyday. bins are emptied in the morning i did not see any cochroches, spiders etc. staffs are quite friendly, value for money.

A little too many people making it harder to socialise

Lots of space to chill and relax (e.g. TV room, huge terrace), discounted food and drinks at pub below, central location between the train station and the waterfront

Don't have elevator (at least to go to my room) and it was complicated by the suitcases, the rooms looked in not so good condition and the refrigerator in the room smelled very bad

It was listened loudly music from next bar, but no problems if so tired the day!!

Closely to reach the reef terminal, just 10mins by foot. Also we can find restaurants, grocery shops even woolworths.

The rooms were spacious, cleaned by a hostel stuff every day, outdoor kitchen was very clean as well, stuff at the reception was very friendly, 2 minutes from Rusty’s market

Only disadvantage for us was that it is next to a bar and the loud music goes on until 12 midnight and 2am at the weekend. If this is no problem, then its a great hostel.

The Kitchen outside my room always seemed a bit dirty and the noise outside my room from those in the kitchen started at 5:30/6am which was rough.

Nicky was extremely helpful upon check in and helping organize transportation for my day trips. the staff did a good job with keeping the noise down or stopping it at 10pm.

Hostel it’s not very clean, our room and especially the bathrooms. We had the private room and the towels were supposed to be provided but they didn’t so we needed to ask them at the reception what would be fine if it would work longer than 7pm. The music is really loud during weekends, more than I could imagine, but of course it was said before, so we were aware of it. Fortunately it’s really nice so we could even enjoy :))

The things which were good: great location (our tours stoped there for pick up), late check in was possible, fridge and air conditioner in the room, laundry and ironing facilities, common kitchen (however with a short opening hours and not so well equipped, it was hardly possible to use a cup), as a hostel guest you can buy lunch for 10$ at the bar.

kitchen sponges got changed like 1-2 times a week so they were dirty and couldn’t clean properly, there were like 5 soap dispensers at the toilet sinks and a few in the kitchen, only 1 or max 2 were filled with soap.

Pillow is really uncomfortable. They don't provide a warm blanket for when someone in the room turns on the AC (I was freezing). 8 beds rooms gets smelly, that's spected. The building with the 4 beds rooms is next to the bar with loud music until late, have a pair of earplugs.

Location is great and price fair. I was first in the 4 beds rooms which was great, always clean and great kitchen in that building, Then I moved to the other building, to an 8 beds room. Common spaces in the second building were better.

kitchen space needs to be bigger. it’s also very loud at night - they do warn you about that though.

you get what you pay for - it’s very basic and the kitchen space is small, but it does have everything you need and is very cheap. they clean it thoroughly every day: one of the cleanest hostels I’ve stayed in.

Facilities reflected the cheap price but all worked absolutely fine so nothing to be put off by.

Really good value for the price. Room was basic but included a fan and a fridge etc. Bathrooms and showers were clean and worked well. Kitchen was decent and pretty clean. Location was really central! Noise wasn't too bad at all.

it is what it is but weekends are super loud.

there’s a bench right outside of the room. get up go out relaxing with the music from the next bar. we have private lockers, toilet and shower room in the room, it was really good. 10$ meals are great as well! the reception lady was lovely :)

The beds is old, broken and the mattress is really thin :/

They had a nice launch room with Netflix on the tv and the location is walking distance to every good spot you want to see in Cairns :-)

we had a ground floor room which was next to the communal kitchen which was full of people until it shut at 10pm but after that the kitchen was closed and quiet. only a problem if you are up early for tours like we were but not a major issue overall.
