How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Pool was closed and it was 40c. When the person above us ran their spa it was very noisy. Luckily they only used it a few times and not late at night

Couldn't use pool closed. Maybe instead of 3 knives, 3 forks, 3 spoons etc some additional would have been nice in the kitchen. Really was just the bare basics to use. Lots of empty drawers which could have had some more kitchen items.
Room self contained, close proximity to esplanade and easy walk to shops, market etc. Room was old but, maintained well. Staff at check-in fabulous and, area reasonably quiet.

The Jetty is in a really good position, near shops and restaurants. The beaches were easily accessible, and were very scenic.

When we booked it was because of the pool we were here 3 days and I had hoped to swim each day as I’m not a sea swimmer and use swimming to exercise. However a few days before our arrival we were advised pool was out of order. The notice of this was in a general welcome too email and a few paragraphs in. This did not give us the opportunity to change our booking. I contacted the property and they did offer the alternative to use the seawater pool or an entry to local leisure centre, very kind but not what I was looking forward too. I said the seawater pool would be ok, but the water was cold and sea very choppy. And I would have had to drive to leisure centre.
We had a basic room but very roomy and we’ll set up. The reception staff was very helpful.

The pool being closed. The room not having a balcony or direct access to the outside. First room we were in there was a problem with the door and the second room had a funny smell.
I liked the position right on the waterfront. There was a lovely pool but unfortunately closed when we were there.. The gardens were pleasant and there was a good children’s playground. The hotel had recently changed hands and once the pool is open and a bit of upgrading on rooms done it will be a really nice place to stay.

The mattress was very hard and made noises every time you moved.
Location was great, staff were were so friendly and accommodating and the rooms were huge with everything you need.

My disabled son would have enjoyed a swim in the pool but this was not available to guests.
All went well but we lost the plastic cover to tv selector and in our search, moved couches where there was quite a lot of food underneath. Otherwise could not complain.

Friendly receptionists who are very warm and welcoming. The location is great! We got the ocean view and it is SO PRETTY. Mum spent her morning having breakfast at the window sill and watching the waves. Beach was literally a road crossing away. Room was clean, necessities were well provided. The only downside is that the stairs from the basement parking are a tiny bit precarious..

sadly the pool was out of order but we were offered a family pass to the indoor pools which was great. The kids love to swim and the weather was not so great so management really understood and provided a solution!
Great value, clean, quiet and close to town. The on site playground was an absolute hit!

The room we had was right beside the stairs and you could hear everyone going up and down the stairs.
