We have spend a month at the Shoeres and it was simply perfect for us as a family of five with small kids - beach just around the corner and above all the pools just a few steps from the house! We were there every day!:) Plus Mackay is a great place for trips to Airlie Beach, the Great Barrier Reef etc.

Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned i.e. fans and dining chairs had dust, dirt underneath sofas. kitchen equipment could be improved i.e. additional pots, bread knife, rice cooker, sharpening of kitchen knives as knives were blunt, high chair for babies.

The unit we were staying is in need of an update. The oven door was loose and the oven dishes inside the oven needed a good clean. The bed was comfortable, and the living area was large and spacious for a one bedroom.

The location of the shores to get to our family celebrations for the weekend was fantastic - a 10 minute drive and we were there! The facilities were great, with everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. The property is right on the beach and we had quite a few good walks there. The greeting at reception was very friendly and informative of the area. I felt very comfortable staying at the Shores with my family. Thank You.

Bit run down. WiFi was almost nonexistent and cell service out there with Telstra was patchy.

As it was winter we wished that there had been the option of a hot spa outside to enjoy. Also our hot water ran out really quickly the first night and we couldn't all shower.

The 2 bedroom apartment or villa was massive and had everything we needed. Right on the beach which was perfect. We only stayed 2 nights as we were heading home from Cairns but we wished we had booked an extra night. We walked almost the whole way around the beach which was beautiful. Pools were lovely also.

I know Mackay doesn’t get particularly cold, but still prefer proper bedcovers. The light blankets provided were not quite enough.

The tennis court, pools and being so close to the beach enabled us to enjoy a great holiday atmosphere while attending an event in Mackay. The apartments are close enough to Mackay to travel to any events, but offer so much more than a motel in town can. Perfect for our large family.

The Shores is right on the beach. Location is very quiet and close to eating venues and supermarkets. Spacious townhouse with great amenities and very comfy bed. Hosts were pleasant and very helpful.

Maybe the only thing I would have liked was somewhere to wash down my Sandy kids before going back inside the unit.

The bathroom could use a good deep clean to get rid of the mould, the beds are comfy but super soft and the mattresses and mattress protectors are full of stains and could use updating.

It was a standalone house with no neighbours, one level, open plan, next to the pool and hood bbq area and short walk into the GORGEOUS Black’s Beach. If you’re here for a good beach holiday then it’s fabulous, if you’re here to be in Mackay each day, then drive is a bit annoying (we had three kids and getting them in and out of the car was just something extra to factor in). The property is fully self contained, kitchen is well supplied, the bath and shower is great for kids and the TV is fully connected to wifi with all the apps which is great for family movie night. The open living space is excellent for social time, but it’s all concrete and polished tiles (which makes sense coz of the beach location). just bring mats or something soft if you have babies… Terry is fabulously welcoming and very kind. Thanks for a great stay :-)
