How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The weather! But that was completely out of the apartment's control!
This is the perfect location for our stay in Byron Bay. Close to the shops, the beach, and our pick up point for the wedding that we were there for (infront of the surf life saving club). It was absolutely value for money! Communication with the owners of the property was outstanding and were happy to give us the information we needed.

the noise of the garbage trucks and the colony of bats so early in the morning was unpleasant.

There are lots of stairs so if you had mobility issues this would be something to consider.
Great location, the apartments were clean and comfy. Next time we are in Byron we will stay again.

Internal stairs in Terrace #5 would be easier and more safely managed if there were handrails in place please.

Fabulous location with only a 5 minute walk to the beach & restaurants.Three level accommodation with two bathrooms made it feel more spacious & & people had their own space. Our request for a late checkout on the day of departure was kindly granted.

The second bathroom is also the laundry and entrance to garage - not a major problem we learned to call out before entering 😂
This property was in a perfect location, it had everything needed including the little things that make life easy as a traveller - glad wrap, extra washing detergent and washing machine detergent, salt and oil. Lots of cookware and utensils.

Location, park car & walk everywhere, easy access to beach, restaurants, shops, townhouse was beautifully renovated and appointed and very clean. Easy to combine a holiday for work and leisure. Very lucky to get upgraded and Byron was not busy with tourists which enhanced my enjoyment and relaxation.

A little confusing getting access. Second bathroom a little strange as had to go through it to get in from garage.

This was our second year staying at the terraces Byron Bay. Giles is an excellent host who genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. Great hospitality. We will no doubt be booking again next year. Thanks very much.

There wasn’t anything that was that unpleasant, to be picky just obviously was a bit older place so aesthetically some things were a little older.
Was perfect for a group of friends. Has all the utensils and appliances we needed. Was so central and just a short stroll to the beach

The Terraces are beautiful apartments. And the location is great with a quick walk to the beach and the city centre. The property was really exceptional :-) I will definitely be recommending this property to friends & family. And Giles the host was also extremely helpful & lovely :-)

Nothing, it’s perfect. Perhaps some salt and pepper sachets with the coffee and tea sachets would be useful
We loved this place. Very clean and comfortable in the best location in Byron. Right opposite the beach and 1 mins walk to town centre. My favourite thing was the big double bath and massive bathroom

Parking can be tricky. I contacted the manager and he gave me some awesome tips! Beware the parking inspectors are on duty every day, and the fines are crazy $$$

Air conditioner was dirty, we had to clean filters to get cold air through. Cleanliness good but we got ants in the kitchen with the heat and humidity. Comfort sad, the rooms were to hot. Air conditioning poorly placed
