How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

a bit dated. lack of a/c in bedrooms makes sleeping on a hot night difficult as windows don’t open much.

Undercover parking was doable but a challenge with centimetres to spare. Decor and furniture dated and “well used”. Busy street so a little noisy late at night and early morning.
convenient location, close walk to city centre, shops, beach (involves stairs) and riverfront. Pool was good, everything worked ok. With a bit of updating this could be a good retro hotel.

We didn't find anything to dislike.
Location is close to the river and beach, you can walk to either. There is a boardwalk you can walk along and coffee shop/bar. Apartment is very comfortable with a balcony to sit on, balcony overlooks the river. Facilities within the apartment are excellent. There is a pool and parking is easy

The beds were very hard and ideally need replacing. The pillow top mattress covers really did nothing to soften the hard beds.

Car parking under the building is very tight so I probably would just park on the street next time. No lift but not a huge problem if we didn’t have a portacot so just something to note if you need mobility aids. Noisy party next door to us but someone did break it up at about 10pm so we didn’t complain.
Budget friendly accommodation. Fairly comfortable and clean.

On 3rd floor. Access by steps with no lift. Not a problem for us but did not expect it at time of booking. Probably a reflection of building's age. Swimming pool on property but tucked around back with no view and although water clean it looked as though the bottom could have done with a quick pass by the Kreepy Krawley.
Spacious apartment. Very clean with good air conditioning, ceiling fans and could easily open sliding glass doors for access to outside small balcony and open air. Excellent 270 degree view over Port Macquarie round to ocean. Kitchen (very clean) had all needs except for dishwasher (not important). Flat screen TV and access to a variety of streaming channels was very satisfactory. WiFI was adequate. Bed and pillows comfortable. Plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space. For 9 apartments about 5 undercover parking spots and 4 open air on the property Easy 3 min walk down to first shops and cafe and about 10 min gets you into main shopping area or Town Beach

Not enough face washers - we booked for 4 people and only got one. Not enough shampoo and conditioner. Didn't like that we had to make sure it was clean before leaving, we paid enough to stay and shouldn't have to ensure everything is clean (although we did because we didn't want a $25-$1000 cleaning fee to be charged) I didn't like that the locks on the balcony was very flimsy and easy for a toddler to break out, especially on the third floor.
Was clean upon entry which we liked. Management was very friendly and welcoming. They didn't charge us the security deposit which was nice, thank you for that.
