Serenity, sounds of animals and view

Quite far to walk from reception to my room in Lodge 5. I have injuries (old fractured spine and femur) . I found somewhat inconvenient and wish I had known previous to my booking so that I could have discussed this.

Nothing not to like. It was all so wonderful.

We were blown away by this incredible place. Our welcome from Sammy on the front desk was most probably the BEST and most friendly welcome we ever had in all our years of travelling. Our room was upgraded and we were over the moon. The whole experience from start to finish was just incredible. The staff are all so lovely, enthusiastic and really love do all the animals. Our little private tours were such a nice touch. Our 6 year old little girl loved it. Waking up to a Koala tight outside our bedroom window I’ll never forget. The MeGal restaurant is a MUST! Thank you so much for our stay. We hope be back again one day.

I thought the restaurant was too expensive and would have liked to been given an option of a more economical meal when there. No one told us you could dine in the lobby and have a pizza or hamburger.

There was hair left in the shower on the wall and floor and the toilet, perhaps not mopped. There was minimal cutlery. No plates. It wasn’t set up well for a family not eating at the restaurant.

The staff were lovely and helpful, the access directly into the zoo was great.

The water pressure in the shower was not that good. And I wished the night tour would cater more on the nocturnal animals.

The overall experience! The exclusive sanctuary tour and night tour was awesome!

The toilets in the main entrance reception area, had that urine smell like they don’t get cleaned often. It smelt like a males public toilet.

No mustard in restaurant for eye fillet?? Toilets dirty in restaurant. Took too long for martini to come. Staff could be dressed cleaner aprons and shoes. Furniture needs updating.

We were not aware ahead of time about how important it was to make dinner reservations. That being said, we were upset if we could not eat at the restaurant on site. We checked online and all reservations were full. However, we decided to just show up to the restaurant, in hopes there was any availability. The entire place was almost empty and there was plenty of tables available. We were glad we made the decision to just show up despite "full" reservations online.

The located of Taronga was unbeatable. To look out over the water to Syndey Harbour was breathtaking. The location sitting on top of the zoo and sanctuary was such an amazing, unique experience. It truly was unforgettable.

Beautiful setting and amazing architecture. All staff were friendly and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Francine went above and beyond to make sure everyone had an amazing stay.

Great way to spend 2 days at Taronga Zoo. Arrive on the day to and check in. Walk around the zoo and get access to your room by 2pm. Join the Australian animal walk within the accomodation, grab dinner at the restaurant or drive out to grab food around Neutral bay, head back for a night zoo walk to see animals activities at night. Then back to the lobby for some snacks and drinks at the bar. Rest for the night and have breakfast with a view. Check out and walk around for the rest of the day at the zoo! Highly recommended. A+++++ Great family activity.

Access to food was probably the issue we found most challenging. The main restaurant has good food but the menu is small and only changes 1 time a week. Since were were there for only 3 nights, we could only select from the same items. And the menu was somewhat challenging for our palate with items were weren't familiar with. The Bar in the lobby did offer Pizza which turned out to be good. Travel into town is only by taxi, car or bus. The #100 Bus runs right into town so this is a possible solution.

Beautiful setting. While the location was out of town, it was in a beautiful area. The grounds were great and direct access to the zoo was just what we wanted. Our room overlooked the Wildlife and we were able to see the animals enjoying their home.

The room was slightly underwhelming and the couch had stains...I was looking for a full length mirror too. It was nice for a 1 night stay.

The staff we amazing....nothing too much trouble. The bed was so comfy! Free movies and great local tea.
