The location was out of the main area which made it very quiet which we love. The rooms were very spacious and decorated in a fashion suitable to the age of the building. We loved the under floor heating in the bathroom. Great facilities for a family with young children.

Spacious apartment. Renovated comfortable and well equipped rooms and bathrooms with a nice view from each room. There is a lake at the back of the property where you can enjoy kayaking and pedal boating

Pillows are all a bit hard to my liking. Shower drain was a bit blocked with water buildup. No tap function for security bond payment. Room fees were c harged twice by both booking.com and reception. Different staff gave different explanation....

Internally renovated as new, the same time maintained inside out historic appearance which is a great job done. It's well equipped in the room also provided with pool, bikes, canoe, tennis court, chess, gym, table tennis etc. facilities at the estate. Staff is reachable 24*7 for late check-in etc.

Having to take our rubbish out before leaving and not having a daily room service with the beds being made and fresh towels. It would be great to have a restaurant to have meals there.

Beautiful place, lovely little apartment. The furnishings are lovely and very well equipped. Loved the history tour of the property.

Not so much a didn't like, but there wasn't a lot of info available. So we didn't find out till we asked that rooms aren't serviced but you can get replacement everything at reception. Our room did smell damp and it turned out there was a leak in the shower which we reported to the Reception team.

This place is a beautiful old collection of buildings surrounded by amazing birdlife and wildlife. The room was large and comfortable with everything that we needed for 4 adults. We loved waking up to the crazy birds, wandering around spotting the rabbits or seeing the possums in the evenings. Having on-site laundry facilities was handy and the Pool and spa was awesome. Located in a lovely quiet area less than 10 mins from the CBD.

The check in was 4pm and check out was 10am. Losing the standard 2 hrs was a bit odd. It is a wyndham resort so their members got an earlier check in of 2pm and out at 12. The 2pm or 3pm with an 11 check out is pretty standard in Australia. The room was also not serviced daily for the price point we found this a little odd but not a huge deal. It is an old building and our room had a stuffy smell and you couldn't open the windows. That would be solved with a nice diffuser. All over the place this and that feature was free for wyndham members or paid for general guests things like even your internet was throttled for non members unless you paid. Having stayed at this type of set up in the US I had hoped that the extra perks were for the members and the baseline for the general customers but the overall features and set up felt a bit sub par for the non members. When you are paying close to $300 a night you have higher expectations and these 'perks' members in the way it impacted the non members definitely did not appeal. Give these members a lot more yes but give your guests paying a very reasonable fee the standard you'd get at another accommodation of a similar price point. The staff were lovely could not fault them and this feedback does not reflect on them. We've stayed at other resorts that have memberships all over the world and impact on non members wasn't detrimental rather the members got a lot more.

I honestly cannot think of anything! We were thrilled with our stay 😄

Our kids absolutely loved the paddle boats and other activities on offer. Every morning they would wake up and go for a run around the lake, use the spa and then we would explore Ballarat before heading back for an evening on the lake and tennis!
