Our room’s windows were totally covered by another part of the building so no sunlight would get in, and the room door had a little opening at the bottom that let in noise if someone passed by, but nothing major

I love that they maintained the early 20th century decoration and everything was comfortable, clean and smelled good. They have signs explaining the hotel history which is very lovely. The breakfast was great and had a lot of options (we ate the bread with eggs and hollandaise sauce). They have a beautiful garden outside and very cozy bars with an antique style

The carpets are looking really worn and either need a shampoo or replacing.

The decor was heritage, the massive pool table you could play upstairs, bottle shop, pub, restaurant and gardens all on site.

Overall we were happy...both woke up around midnight with slightly upset stomach's but had passed by morning.

Beautiful gardens and ambience. Our room was clean and comfortable ..next time will try for balcony room. Really enjoyed music in the lobby prior and during dinner.

When I first arrived I found it a little difficult to locate where reception was and could be better signed as I could only park first up in the Pub carpark when the Entrance to the Hotel is at the back

The location was exceptionally close to Caves Road and all the wineries

Our only complaint was that there was someone setting up a wedding from 5am in the morning. Moving barrels, bins, what sounded like tables but I think it was a drinks cart... then someone started mowing the grass at 8am. That was just ridiculous and very disappointing.

The food, the service, the atmosphere, location. lovely place

The tables outside were joined together and it was a bit 'interesting' to sit at the end of a table close to another party. The smoking section was not signed well. I only noticed it was the smoking section as all tables had a ashtray on them, and then noticed the sign. Check in was bit difficult as the reception was not manned when we arrived, we had to go to the bar and then back to the reception. A bell at reception would have been more convenient.

This is the second time we have stayed at Caves House. The first time we were in Room 9, and we were hoping we would get the same room. Luck was on our side and we did. After a few days of hiking, we were looking forward to a spa. The night we stayed was twilight markets and pizza night. The pizza was amazing. We sat outside to enjoy the atmosphere.

The main bar area didn’t have much seating if you wanted to watch the sport

The building and gardens were amazing. The room was lovely and the spa bath was awesome. Restaurant was great and location ideal, walking distance to the beach, bottleshop, we didn’t need to use the car at all! Will definitely be back!

The ventilation in the bathroom makes it very cold after the shower (perhaps it has windows...) There is no lift in the hotel so it is quite difficult to carry a large suitcase upstairs....be careful about it.

A hotel with a rich history. It is like a mini museum to look around different stuff in the hotel. The room is spacious but TV is quite small.

The photos of the room depicted a Nespresso pod machine but our did not have one. Service at the hotel breakfast was varied - one morning it took 40 minutes to have a (paid for) coffee made

The air conditioning unit was just outside our window and was fairly noisy. We hadn't expected this. The good thing about this is that it seemed to be turned off late at night.

The Room size was brilliant. The breakfast was excellent & appreciated even more as it was included in the room price!!
