Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Irelandoccasionally the pool ran out of towels and had limited sun loungers. The beach had limited umbrellas.
The location and the cleanliness. Carlisle beach is fantastic. A short walk into Bridgetown and many of the best restaurants on the west coast are a short taxi ride away

United KingdomThe hotel itself is lovely the rooms are really spacious. The location is not the best in terms of wanting to go out on the nights as it’s around 6 miles from the main strip / bars / restaurants! There is however a tiki bus if you walk around half a mile to the main road which will take you to the livelier spots for around 4 dollers. Taxis were around 30 us dollers for the same route. The beach at the hotel was lovely and the beach out the front of the hotel was exceptional !

IrelandThe location is extremely windy. The beach isn’t suitable for swimming. Full of conference attendees and all the airline crews stay here so not much of a holiday atmosphere.

United KingdomWe’ll put it down to Covid and restrictions, but the pool side staff could be more cheerful and attentive. Don’t accept a north facing room over the carpark and service area - that's not why you book a Caribbean trip or on an anniversary.
Location was great, with great accessibilty as was the beach. Staff were friendly especially at reception and breakfast. We were relocated on Day 2 to an incredible beach/pool view on the southern block. Breakfast was excellent as were the sunset cocktails. Free Turtle snorkelling outside the hotel grounds, horses at 6am and some really nice food stalls (outside the hotel) Cuz’s Marlin sandwiches, next to the beach cocktail van (The Happy Hour Spot) and Lobster Alive Sunday lunch with love music on the beach, 15mins walk north, were highlights.

United KingdomBooking had clear breakfast/ daily credit offers (the reason why I booked with bookings instead of hilton.com), but I literally had to speak to the Hilton Barbados reception on at least 6 occasions to get the bookings deal accounted for in my invoice correctly. Infact I still have to follow up with Hilton for some inaccuracies, which I did not have time to finalise whilst in the Hilton. There is alot of inefficiencies with the Hilton, ie: I query about an error, by the time they understand the error and ask me to explain again, its the next day. Hence on my last day, there were still some queries on my invoice which I simply had no time to deal with. I actually started queries on my invoice from day 7 of my 11 day stay. It is exhausting.
The best thing is undoubtably the pools and beach front, public beach but because of the slightly out of the way location, its actually feels very private. lots of loungers for sun-bathing (no extra charges). Good security staff on beach. Pools were nice and big, again plenty of loungers everyday that we were there. Room with balcony is a must for the sea view.

LithuaniaService is very slow. At the reception there can stand 20 people but staff would still walk around, talk to each other, nobody bothers to rush. As well at the arrival receptionist only told the times of breakfast, no additional info on what is availble for guests, thus only on last days we found out that guests can use equipment (e.g. SUP boards) at Blue Barbados free of charge.

United KingdomConsidering price charged for breakfast the quality and variety of food available could have been better. Whilst its beach /sea situation is superb, the hotel is rather distant for walking into Bridgetown and it's livelier suburbs to the east with shops and other amenities.
