“Quiet, in a rural setting which suits us fine; lovely place, full of character, but also updated with modern conveniences and facilities. Very, very comfortable and easy to live in; really, really enjoyable stay. Wonderful hosts, Jolande and Rudy, with their excellent friterie next door. Overall, great place in a lovely, quiet village which has good facilities including an excellent supermarket called Smatch; it's close to Bastogne for its history and close to main road links for a touring base into France, Luxembourg, Belgium generally and Germany. Plus, its location in The Ardennes makes it great to get out into rural, agricultural, and green spaces. Loved it and didn't want to go home. Hope to come again.”
“This is a lovely property, the photos don’t do it justice, very clean and the kitchen is very well equipped. Fabulous views. It’s ideally situated for visiting the Bois Jacques Foxholes and the Bastogne War Museum as well as Bastogne itself. The house is actually in Longchamps which formed the most northerly part of the front line during the encirclement of Bastogne in December 1944. This is well explained in the 101st Airborne Museum in the centre of Bastogne. The charming owner met us and showed us how everything worked. Beautiful garden to sit in when the weather is good, we were lucky it was hot. There is a good supermarket in Bertogne which had everything we needed, including excellent fresh meats, cheeses and vegetables, plus wine !!”
