The town of Ellezelles calls itself the birth town of Hercule Poirot, and they have a statute of the Belgian detective next to the church two minutes walk from the hotel. The museum (currently closed for renovation) also has a copy of the birth certificate of Poirot: born the 1st of April 1850 :-)”
