How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Can a honestly say there was nothing we didn't like everything was excellent
Absolutley loved this hotel. Clean, cosy, staff was very friendly. Made us feel very welcome. We had an apartment it was fully equipped with everything we needed. Bed were comfy. The house keeper Dominique went above and beyond for us. Clean towels made our beds every day etc. Breakfast was buffet style always something to eat and very tasty too. We loved the parrot Pico he was very charming and talkative. Parking not a problem safe car park. Only a short walk to the beach front. Will be definatley going back to this hotel again next year.

There was much what was wrong,I don't think I would have a ground floor again,I could hear the pool table,but no, you can't fault anything

Not much really, perhaps the breakfast buffet didn't have a lot of variety but it was still good for the price.
Overall everything was nice, nothing out of the ordinary.

The fridge didn't work.
Great location, close to the train station, in the centre of town, in the main street (pedestrian zone with shops), 5 minutes walk to the beach. Very friendly stuff, tasty breakfasts (variety of food) and cosy room. And last but not least - the parrot ;)

Lotaction was great staff was brilliant very helpful room were clean and tidy and there was entertainment in the bar breakfast was very good with great service.

Very good location. Helpful and friendly stuff. Clean. Comfortable bed. Excellent and big variety of breakfast. Sparkling wine for breakfast :) Spacious lobby to gather with friends.

This is a lovely hotel located very near the station, shops, restaurants and beach. The breakfasts in particular are excellent, with a huge choice and fresh products.

The whole staff was friendly and always welcoming. The service at breakfast was so quick and efficient. It took them around 3 minutes after ordering to have fresh scrambled or fried eggs at the table. Astonishing! And of course the breakfast itself was great too. There was an excellent atmosphere at the hotel throughout our whole stay and we liked our room, the patio and the lounge a lot. I would warmly recommend this place to anyone staying in Blankenberge. The beach and the station are close by and so it only took us 15 minutes to get to Bruges by train.

Pedestrian area not really clean based on the high number of tourists over the weekend of May 1st.
Nice rooms, very practically. Very clean, direkt in the pedestrian area of the city. Rooms absolutely quiet.

Parking slot in hotel was not available.
I was very happy with our stay in hotel, everything was great. Just one small disappointment..Parking. There was not any free parking spot for our car, despite I tried to book it in advance. We had to left our car on the edge of the town which was uncomfortable with the kids and luggages..But still, we really enjoyed the time in Alfa Inn.

The night stay rate and parking fee could be a bit lower.
The appartement was very organised, comfortable and fully equipped. The staffs are top. A special thank you to Mrs.Ria, who was very kind and made everything nicely during our stay. Very good breakfast. The parking was very handy.

Double rooms/bathrooms were a little small. We preferred the 4p family room we had last time.
Breakfast was perfect, very good spread with some nice local products. Location is great, on the main shopping street, 10 min walk to the beach. There's room with a snooker and a large room where you can just read a book or have a drink. Sauna is great too.

A nice hotel with friendly staff in the center of Blankenberge and 500m from the sea. Breakfast was delicious with good selection of food and live music on Sunday made a big difference! Paid parking is secure and easily accessible. Talking parrot is a little star of the hotel!

Nothing, we've really enjoyed our stay! 😀
We really loved everything about our stay. We felt really comfortable and everyone was really friendly. Our daughter is still talking about her good friend Pico, the parrot 😁. We'll surely return very soon!
