How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A better view.
I loved that this hotel was close to many restaurants and shops as well as Grand Place. The price was good for the location we stayed in.

There could have been more tea, coffee and milk in the room. More hot options at breakfast
The room was nice except the room backed onto the back of a set of flats so the view was not very appealing. It was nice to have such a wide choice of breakfast treats

Shower and lack of breakfast options plus there is no communal lounge or area to meet up with friends for a drink / coffee
Location was perfect, rooms were all a good size, clean and served the purpose, shower let it down but it worked so at least we could be clean and fresh. Breakfast was ok, not much of anything to offer on the days we stayed as the hotel was full so don't think they could keep up with things like boiled eggs, cheese and croissants.

The décor & bathroom is a little basic but that's not something that would stop me staying here again.
This hotel has an excellent location, very near the centre of Brussels. The room was quite big, very clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable. There was also a pretty good choice for breakfast

The breakfast was a bit disappointing, seemed to be short of some items.
The hotel was generally good. Friendly, comfortable, quite close to the city centre, without being in the busiest area.

Somewhat anonymous and stark design. Rather narrow bath, which made standing in the shower difficult.
Clean hotel with spacious but simple rooms. Excellent location near Bourse and the Grand Place: an easy walk from all the action but on a quiet street. Good breakfast included.

Loved the location of the hotel. Near the grand square Christmas markets and beautiful Christmas lights. The breakfast was included but just basic. The room was also basic but comfortable. Staff was helpful. We would return to this hotel again. Not luxurious but a great 3 star option

The breakfast room was too small. It was difficult to get to the food and sometimes things were not replenished. Tables were too close together so you could not have a conversation.
Close to all the amenities and to the metro. Rooms were comfortable.

Perhaps there could be a writing pad in the room, and souvenir slippers.
Each room is named after a capital city. Spacious and clean accommodation.

This was my third stay at the Atlas hotel. It is located just a few minutes walk from the Grand Place and Marche des Poissons Christmas markets. Easy to get there from Bruxelle midi train station on the metro. Excellent two level room with a sitting area upstairs; bed and bath rooms downstairs. Quality continental style buffet breakfast. Very comfortable bed and nothing to complain about in the bathroom; Nuxe toiletries were lovely. All the staff could not have been more helpful. It will continue to be my ‘go to’ hotel in Bruxelles whatever the time of year.

Dark wood flooring fine for summer but not welcoming in winter. Unhelpful member of staff on morning of departure, when asked to book a taxi informed us we would have to walk to the Marriott hotel taxi rank. Not pleasant for 75 year old dragging a suitcase in the rain over cobbled streets.

There is no closet where to put the clothes; you have to wait up to 3 minutes for hot water to run in the shower; there should be biger variety for breakfast
