Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe air blower in the room struggled to make any difference to the temperature but it was VERY hot!
Location was quiet but very pleasant. After a long day it was perfect to relax and enjoy a good meal from the restaurant. The room was quite large and had a stunning view to wake up to.

United KingdomTired and old fashioned. Dangerous! Three tiled steps in the bedroom corridor with no warning if you are looking out the windows at the view! Expensive. A shoe shine pad in the bathroom. Who uses shoe shine pads these days? They rushed dinner ‘cause the ‘Big Boss’ through not enough ’covers’! Set three course meal expensive- 42€! Melon and ham! Chicken supreme! Cheese. Towel was crispy. Toiletries - 3x shampoo. 2x moisturiser. None x shower gel! Dead wasp under window and a lady’s cardigan in the wardrobe. Bedroom up stairs; no lift. Skeleton staff - four I saw; same as customers for dinner. Up a steep hill if walking.
Dated or traditional? Old fashioned or timeless? Big stone and dark wood and tapestries. Warm and quiet and clean enough. A huge open fire and lounge with chairs. Bar and restaurant. The bedroom was big and bright with nice view. Bathroom clean and spacious with shower over. Breakfast was good. Parking. The evening waiter was very helpful. It was OK; but, no.

United KingdomYes very quiet only two people in the whole chateau. I was a little late getting there because my SatNav wasn't working. The proprietor didn't seem too pleased. But he did supply a cold meal for me. I must say it's a beautiful chateau, I just wish the proprietor would have been pleased to see me, it would have made my day.
Just two eggs very expensive

BelgiumThe city nearby is almost like a ghost town. It was a bit weird. There was no wi-fi at all. Unfortunately only one guy from the staff speaks English and he was not there when we arrived and left. I also felt the place could use a gardener since there were lots of dead flowers and dead grass around. Also some pilling up in the corners. There were lots of stairs to reach our room. It was difficult with luggage and a baby. It seemed that there was an event happening when we arrived and we didn't understand if we could have dinner or not or how much that would cost. We had to drive somewhere else to eat. We also decided not to have breakfast there.
It is a place with a lot of potential. It is charming and has a great view. The rooms were spacious and were clean. Although in a rural area, there were no bugs in the room. The staff was also nice. The beds were comfortable and it was very nice to see the stones from inside the castle.

NetherlandsWe booked two nights in the beautiful Chateau de Latour to celebrate New Year(s Eve). A gorgeous experience. The hotel is situated in a monumental castle, with beautifully furnished rooms, a great living, with an open fire and high ceiling. A relaxed place to have a drink or write down some ideas. Because of the season there was a huge Xmas tree in the living, with a Nativity scene at the base. But whatever season one visits Latour: it is always hosted by the most friendly and hard working staff. They deliver clean rooms and a big and varied breakfast in the castles dining room. Highly Recommended! Staff had a big dinner to serve for the festivities but were very helpful in our request for example to put our Champagne in their fridge. Also when we settled in our room, one lamp did not seem to work. Within 5 minutes somebody was knocking at our door te replace the bulb. Great bathroom, great shower, good water, good beds. Big windows, overlooking the hills, or the courtyard in front of the castle. Also a big and free parking space in front of the castle and just a few minute drive to the lovely town of Virton.
