How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

That we didn`t know in front that there wont be toothpaste, and having to pay for parking every day witch wasn`t included or at least to have a discount

Window opens a little bit vertically (no aeration), baby size sink (you cannot wash).
Great location, gorgeous shower, very good beds, large enough room, windows wall, relaxation area and cheap restaurant on the ground floor.

The corridors were a bit dirty, but nothing that a vacuum cleaner cant fix
Easy check-in, rooms were clean and comfortable. There is an excellent breakfast at the lobby.

I think this is an issue with a lot of Belgium hotels, but the WC doors don't seem to ever shut completely – the sliding doors are a nice elegant touch that save up a lot of space, but my experience in this country is that they seldomly every close all the way.
Very central and close from the train station and main high streets. The room was bigger than I had anticipated, with high ceilings and massive sash windows; definitely bigger than the average room, very comfortable. Staff were accommodating and let us store our luggage on the last day. The check-in was done via a machine which was quick and easy to sort, too. It was very comfortable and lively in the breakout areas whilst still offering nice peace and quiet throughout. Great spot!

I had an impressive stay at City Box Antwerp hostel! Seamless self-check-in, spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms, conveniently located near the central station and public transport. The high-standard facilities exceeded expectations. Highly recommended!

It would be nice to have free coffee and tea.
Excellent location and comfortable facilities. There are is a coffee shop at the hotel lobby as well as food machines.

The light from outside shining through the slit of the bathroom door, right at our heads in bed…
It is simple. Yet it is all you need (for a short stay). The room was comfortable.

Would have liked some glasses or cups in room (but were available in kitchen).
Very clean and comfortable bed. Shared kitchen and lobby restaurant were great enhancements. Spacious shower, which is rare for Europe, I am learning.

The room was fine but it is fairly basic. Bed comfortable, room quiet but not not luxury.
Easy walk to the station and the staff were very helpful. There were lots of extra facilities available such as guest kitchen and dining area and lounge areas. We arrived in the morning and could leave our bags in a secure area all day.

The only disadvantage is the lack of a kettle in the room, but a shared kitchen was nicely equipped

I would like a small fridge and a boiler for a tea or coffee in the room Plus, not a cupboard to leave your clothes
It has a clever way to have breakfast and lasts until brunch.

There was only 1 towel per person and no rug in the bathroom. TV was not working. No teapot in the room only in common spaces in lobby.
Location is just perfect. Check-in and check out are very convenient and fast, using check-in/out screens. Room is very spacious.

Room cleaning is done only if you request! I think it should be done in 2 or 3 days period without any notice.
Very close to the city centre but also very silent. Bed is really comfortable and the hotel especially the room is really clean.

Stupid thing but no glasses in the room, so you have to use the ones in the lobby to drink water.

I believe the hotel was recently opened, so there were a few things missing, such as tv. There was not even a glass to drink water in the room, no tea or coffee facilities, no fridge.
Perfect Location, absolutely clean, big rooms and toilets, perfect for a city break to explore the area.

The room had everything I needed, large room with a large balcony on the top floor. Good bed, good shower, lots of places to plug in devices. Bright and open, no clutter.
