Nothing could have been improved from my perspective.

The hotel is well situated and easy to find. The car park has plenty of room. Checking in was very straightforward, especially as I don't speak the local language. My room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was Continental and of a very good standard. In the hotel grounds there are numerous World War 1 artefacts to view.

The bathroom was very dated and needed an upgrade. There were no tea or coffee making facilities provided in the room and the restaurant times were very limited. We arrived later than expected and was denied a meal due to restaurant being closed after 8.30pm - very disappointing after a very long drive. We were not asked if we would like something cold as an alternative.

Restaurant very good and staff pleasant and location excellent.

Loved everything, the only thing that would have made it better was tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities in the room. It was difficult getting a decent cup of tea in the morning with other guests racing for the hot water.

The location suited our needs. The food was amazing! Great portion sizes and very tasty.

A kettle in the room, plus some glasses would be nice. The restaurant was shut while we were there, so I can't comment on the evening meals.

Our room was in the main part of the hotel, it was a large room with a high ceiling, and was close to the breakfast room. The breakfast is the standard continental food, but better as everything was very fresh, delicious.

I was happy with everything as it was.

I booked a single room. My ensuite room was spacious, clean and functional. The windows if opened had mosquito mesh in the frame, so in hot weather the room could be aired without the worry of critters. Daily room service was great, breakfast provided a good choice of continental and cereal and the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. This hotel provides good car parking and is located conveniently to nearby places of interest and cycle routes. 3 out of the 5 mornings I had to be away before breakfast so they provided a packed breakfast/lunch to take with me!

Few cobwebs in bathroom of room 41. Hairdryer in room 42 didn't work. There was no hairdryer at all in room 43 - the shower was also flooding. As well as soap it would have been nice to have shampoo. Needed a bus or taxi into town. We're hikers but considered it too long and boring to walk each time.

Lovely hotel in the older section. Loved finding out about the history of place - right in the middle of what was a strategic battleground. Breakfast was good. Everyone friendly.
