Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Costa RicaThe charming old fashioned bath tub is not senior friendly - slippery, difficult to get in and out of, no grab bars and difficult to shower if that's important.
An excellent stay, spacious room with gas fireplace comfortable chairs.

United Kingdom2 flights of stairs to the room and an awkward step inside it to the bathroom. It’s a old building and uneven levels and small staircases are part of the charm
Beautiful place, well equipped rooms and friendly host

United KingdomNothing not to like it was perfect.
The location was great for driving into central Brugge. The property itself is stunning and looked even more beautiful in the snow. The room had a romantic feel and a very welcoming fire which the owner kindly lit prior to our arrival

United KingdomI like everything I can not find one fault.
It was magical, such a beautiful place. just far enough away from the hustle & bustle only 10 minutes to drive to Brugge centre very straight forward. The room was very clean and had an open log fire which was so nice to sit in front off after a cold day of sightseeing. English TV and a roll top bath I thought I was in Shabby Chic heaven. I loved everything about this place, the host was very nice and recommended places to eat, The breakfast was amazing homemade Granola, Jam and eggs if you wanted with basket of Croissants & rolls I just can not fault one thing. I would 110% recommend a visit you will not be disappointed. Even Rudi the dog was well behaved and gave us a lovely greeting. I will definitely visit again in the summer as the gardens are also beautiful & well kept. This is a little gem.

United KingdomEverything perfect at the B&B. Some of the local restaurants nearby were closed on certain days, but we managed to find a perfect one closer to Bruges.
Amazing building and surrounding gardens. Beautifully decorated inside and very romantic. We were upgraded to a suite which was really nice. Large bath, sitting room with fridge, tea and coffee. Bed large and comfortable. Breakfast (continental, but generous) also amazing made with really tasty local produce and was included in the price. Very close to Bruges. You could drive there in 15 minutes and the car park was central, spacious, modern and not too expensive (‘t Zand). Sylvie, the host was lovely and ensured we had everything we needed for a great stay. We will be back.

United KingdomOur only issue was that there wasn't an enclosed shower - just a hand held one in the roll top bath. We were very conscious of getting water everywhere. Also, a fault on the boiler but that was sorted out very quickly once we informed our host.
Lovely welcome, very helpful host. Beautiful setting and nicely furnished rooms. Location was good - easy to get to and well signposted. Restaurants within walking distance. Well placed for getting to Eurotunnel at Calais the next morning. Breakfast was very good - all fresh and home made.

AustriaJust a minor point. I did not like the bedsheets and found them rough and uncomfortable ( felt like mattress protractors ) The blankets and pillows however were of a very nice quality.
We were greeted very welcoming and offered drinks at arrival. The house and ground is beautiful and very close to both the motorway and Centre if Bruges. Break fast was outstanding, served ti your table and not as a buffet, which we liked very much. We can thoroughly recommend the B&B to everyone.

United KingdomThis property offers an unforgettable experience! The details are mind blowing, offering a very cozy atmosphere, getting you back in time. Even in winter you get very beautiful house surroundings. We’d love to come back in summer, for all the blooming flowers there. The host is just great, very welcoming and we could have not asked for more! There are plenty of restaurants and places to ear very close by. And very short drive to Bruges. Breakfast was fabulous, and we’ve been offered a very nice gift as it was St Nicolas eve. Overall, an amazing stay and we’ll definitely like to come back!
