    There were bed bugs in bed in the terrace bedroom! Our first night was like a disaster. At night we sent a message to the owner of the flat and the booking customer service to change the bed, and sheets and clean the room. No one took our message seriously and came for cleaning. On the second night, my colleague had to sleep on the sofa in the living room. The sofa was broken and no clean bed clothing or sheet. After sending messages with photos after a sleepless second night the booking customer service suggested we change the hotel, which was almost impossible to find a new location in Brussels for one night and on the same date. In the end, we had to pay for two nights we stayed with bed bugs!! I am sharing the photos of my colleague here for the ones who are thinking of booking this flat. He had redness and blisters on the whole body and itching all day. He had a serious health problem and lost of work considering that we visited Brussels for a set of meetings.

    There was a sound, a beep, that was quite loud, I think it was from the power board. I didn't realize from where it was when they asked me, but they tried to help!

    The location was very good! And the stuff, even if we didn't meet them, was kind, they send us mails to ask for our stay.

    It started with the rejection (twice) of our request for early check-in through Booking.com only to find out one day before our arrival that it was possible to check in earlier as a paid service. It was quite disappointing but as we did not want to walk around Bruxelles with our luggage for four hours, we accepted that. They requested us the details of our credit card which unfortunately was not working for them (the same one that worked during our reservation on Booking.com). So by the time we landed, we did not have the code for accessing earlier the building and we had to walk to Smartflats offices. I express my disappointment to the guy who was only able to say "It is not my fault" and explained that his colleagues from the call center are picking up from Morocco and there is nothing he could do. The same colleagues who did not pick up any of the calls I had made in the previous days and were not answering the emails timely forcing our group to walk to their office instead of heading to the apartment. I showed the guy the calls I made, he took a picture and promised to file a report on that. Which was not actually reassuring nor a kind of compensation for the inconvenience considering that they still made me pay for a service (early check-in) that we did not get. In addition to that, I had to basically provide all the details of my credit card (including the CVV) as there was no other way to make the payment (no cash, no bank transfer, no POS available) and considering what had happened until then it wasn't reassuring to have them save the details. I will save the readers from detailed comments on the state of the apartment (dirtiness of the apartment, lack of kitchenware, decay of doors and windows, lack of basic maintenance, lack of the adequate number of towels, lack of a broom or basic tools for cleaning, the nauseating smell coming from one bathroom) as you can find them in other reviews.

    Very beautiful apartment in a very good position. I will use the space in this box to add to the negative comments as the one below is full. The wifi was not working properly regardless of the fact I made clear in the emails that our group was on a business trip and we really needed a good connection. The experience we had was the farther you can imagine from being smart: lack of communication between the office in Bruxelles and the call center in Morocco; inability to communicate in a timely way with the staff; lack, partial or wrong information provided. It is a pity that such a beautiful apartment is left to such bad management and maintenance.

    1. The light switches were not working at all, so every time I wanted to turn a light on and off I had to do it through the circuit board. I notified the company repeatedly and was ignored - noone was picking up the phone or responding to emails. The WhatsApp number they claim to provide doesn't work. Completely unacceptable. 2. The shower room smelled very badly, I had to buy cleaning products to make sure it was bearable. 3. The overall level of cleanliness was poor.

    The location is v good and the flat is spacious.

    As 5 friends, we booked and paid for 5 individual beds, only to turn up to find 2 doubles and 1 single. After contacting reception, we were promised that this would be sorted within 1-2 hours, but nothing was done

    the fact that for day 1 I had no lights which meant a shower in the pitch black as no window and day 2 and 3 lights I couldn’t turn off at all so interrupted sleep. was promised an iron on day 1 - but it never came.

    This place has a serious issue with hygiene. Our guests got bug bites from fleas or something. Can't recommend this at all.

    Our laptop bag was stolen in the lobby of the aparthotel. In vain, we asked for help on the +32 2 640 72 40 phone number, but nobody help us. Finally we called the police. On the spot, the police watched the video recording of 2 security camera images of the hotel, which clearly showed that 3 men appeared around our suitcases and one of them lifted our laptop bag and left. The estimated value of stolen items is aprox.3000 EUR. The fact is that the theft of our bag took place behind the code-locked and protected entrance door, on the premises of the accommodation provider, so not in public areas. Our experiences: there was cigarette smoke upon entering the apartment, the left armrest of the sofa is half broken, the edge of the sofa is torn, the red sofa is stained and dirty, the bulb was missing from the bedside lamp, the chair in front of the kitchen counter is torn, the sponge is visible, the patio door handle fell out, windows and curtains were dirty and dusty, the wall of the living room is knocked down in several places, loud music until 4:00 am, we got stuck in the elevator, etc. We wrote several letters to the aparthotel. We asked for help based on the liability insurance of the hotel. They didn't even reply to our letters. They were disappointing, indifferent and unethical.

    it was dirty when we checked in. Moldy shower. Broken balance door. Broken sofa. Smelly sheets. Stained and worn bar stools. Kitchen sink wouldn’t drain. Gunk came up when the dishwasher was run. Terrible wifi.

    Lacking alot of finishing touch. Door handles falling off, several lights not working, parasol not working, missing a lot of outdoor pillows and a minimum of kitchen equipment. We contacted smartflats regarding some of our issues. They responded and told us they would revert back. We did not receive any update.

    Good space and and a nice roof terrace.

    Air condition was lacking, got very hot very fast in the apartment. It would be good if there was some cleaning equipment available, for those that prefer to clean after their stay.

    The location was perfectly placed in the middle of Brussels. Not too far from the nightlife on foot, max 20 minutes. The apartment was large, had a great view of the main street and an elevator to get to the top floors.

    our flat was not maintained , half of the apartments lights didn’t work including the bathroom . we all had to stay in the hall where there was light and actually use flash lights for the bathroom . the shower was stinking so for three days we didn’t even take bath

    6th floor elevator does not work!! no warning about it ! no help! no answer by email! barely answer by phone and no real help. super dirty floor! lights in apartment broken and doesn't work at all or you can't turn it off. bathroom does not have ventilation.

    the flat is ont the 6th floor. I have sent several messages about the fact it was not functioning properly. Some neighbors even got trapped and had to call for emergency services. when I arrived I had my suitcases that I had to carry up above the flat through the stairs!

    It is impossible to connect with the ’hotel’ agency. They do not pick up the phone, do not answer emails and did not respond to the provided WhatsApp number. It was too warm in the apartment at night, even if the heating off The sun shades did not work properly, so during the day it was boiling hot. The electric outlets are on impossible locations, no outlets near the bed. And only one available near the table. One outlet near the table was defect. The wifi modum was zooming too loud. The hallway smells like a Chinese kitchen. I asked for extra sheets for the sofa bed and did not receive these.
