We had such a fantastic stay at the Menin Gate House. Benoit came and met us to explain about places we needed to visit on the Western Front and also invited us a special guests at the Last Post to honour our Kiwi families who had fallen in the War. We were very touched and very grateful. He also suggested fabulous restaurants which we enjoyed immensely. It was located in the best area - right next to Menin Gate, close to the town and near a supermarket. Couldn't fault it. Thank you.

I do not say this glibly. There was not a single negative point about Menin Gatehouse nor an aspect that we felt could be improved.

Benoit is an exceptional host. He is very friendly and took the time to personally show us around the property despite us being an hour late to arrive. Menin Gatehouse itself is literally a 30-second walk from the evening act of Remeberance. It is a perfect blend of modern comfort and character as the memrobelia all over the property was enthralling. The information pack Benoit has written covers everything one needs or could need. Every aspect was spotless and worked perfectly.We felt privileged to have stayed there and I am certain we shall ask to stay there again.

I have visited Ypres so many times in the past but this is by far the best accommodation I have ever stayed in, Ben the host was exceptional, and as far as the location goes this is perfect!!! you are literally right by Menin Gate!, exceptionally spacious, very luxurious , If I could give 11 out of 10 I would!!! will definitely be returning

The host, Ben gave the warmest welcome I’ve ever experienced with any stay. A true gentleman.and a great way to start the trip. The house itself is outstanding in its location, history, facilities, comfort and uniqueness. Rebuilt at the end of the Great War it stands opposite the hugely impressive Menin Gate which can be seen from all the windows at the front of house. Without equal, the best house I have stayed in when doing a city tour or historical break. Can’t recommend it highly enough and stay again.

Location is fantastic and very convenient for touring Ypres. House is beautifully presented, very clean and packed with facilities. It is without doubt one of the best places I have stayed at this price point. Ben is very helpful. A Charming host who is a font of knowledge on the area. I will definitely be returning. Most guests will be here to tour the Ypres Salient. The house provides the perfect backdrop to this with its array of period memorabilia. The daily last post ceremony takes place just across the road. Parking is easy and there is easy access to shops, bars and restaurants. I would be quite happy living here!

Whilst everything was excellent and we would certainly love to go again there could have been a few more coat hangers in the wardrobe and perhaps somewhere to put underwear.

The location was superb. The accommodation was excellent. We felt comfortable as soon as we arrived. The house was outstanding for the purpose of our trip. The owner was attentive and extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

The Menin Gate House was an excellent choice for our stay in Ypres. It was such a good place to stay for the last 2 nights for our road trip starting in Calais, passing Pozieres, Arras. and then Ypres. In search the war graves of my 3 great uncles. The property was right near the monument so we could hear the last post and also explore surrounding area. Our host was exceptional, so informative and knowledgeable. It was an honour and privilege to meet the host and stay in this property. The property itself was most comfortable, had a well equipped kitchen, clean rooms and modern bathroom. All decorated to a very high standard. The host has displayed artifacts from WW1, interesting literature and accomplishments. .
