How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was not very clean. It was very noisy, as if there were no windows. It was a bit cold. The tap water would start with hot water and you needed to wait a long while for the water temperature to become bearable to clean yourself. There were no hotel slippers.
The location is very good, very central and you have everything you need around. They bring water and tea/coffee every day.

Could hear all street noise with windows closed. No water pressure in the shower. No heating in the bathroom.
Good location - close to center/old town, flixbus station. Nice staff. Big room, comfortable beds. Good economy choice.

this hotel shouldn't be ranked with 4 stars, 2 starts is what is looks like there were no baseboards; bathroom is full of rust; there was a weak stream of water in the shower; the maid service does not clean the room unless you ask to clean it up; hotel needs renovation

Nothing, really. If we had paid a higher price we might have expected a little more luxury. Don't think the hotel totally earns its official 4 stars, but reception area and breakfast room are very nice. Think they're doing up rooms a bit at a time.
We were a bit worried after reading some reviews but for us, the hotel was fine. Very helpful staff, cleaning staff did a great job. Yes, room was a little tired, stained silicone in the bathroom and the old carpet needed replacing, but nowhere near as bad as other reviews led us to believe. Good shower pressure, daily cleaning, kettle with coffee/tea in the room, free bottles of water. The short walk to the centre in combination with the price made this a great place to stay.

maybe some facilities need to be replaced, for example, the aircondition of my room is too old to work. Fortunately it's not very cold of the weather during my stay.
the staff in the reception desk is super friendly and nice. also the location is perfect in this price, very convenient for taking public transportations

God hotel in the center of the city so it is a short walk to most of the attracktions. Nice and helpful staff and good breakfast and the room was nice and clean.

My spacious double room had all the main facilities including a TV, safe, coffee machine and private bathroom. The hotel has lifts to upper floors. The continental breakfast had a good spread of cereals, warm food options such as eggs, bacon, plus tea, coffee, and juice. Located close to the Meir shopping street and Opera metro station, the hotel is very convenient, being just over 5 minutes walk from Central Station. A 10 minutes further walk brings you to the old town and the towering Cathedral.

The room wasn't on the scale of a 4 star hotel or even 3 stars. The bathroom had some broken tiles, and the towel holder was not secure. It kept falling off. There was a loose wire in the wall that the hotel staff had put some paper towels around it to cover. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were so small, not the stabdard 60*70, it was barely enough to put my head on l, and everytime i rolled in my sleep i kept falling off of it and i woke up.
The location is very good, next to the central station and walkable distance from old town and attractions. Amenities were provided, and 2 bottles of water were in the fridge. A working kettle and some assortments of tea. Receptionists were super nice.
