Light on the stairs on the way to flat wasn't working, very dark Flat very dark as is painted dark grey all over, lights not strong in living room, some didn't work. Late check-in and flat wasn't ready, so I had to send an email, and after 4 p.m., 2 women's came and cleaned, provided fresh bedding and towels. Shower pressure was very low with not very hot water, which didn't last for 3 people. Pillows so flat that sleeping without them didn't make any difference. Not a single fork or knife available. We had to buy a bag of wooden forks and knifes. No kettle available. There was some sort of machine for bag tea and coffee but was leaking, and making noodle pots was very awkward to make. Sofa bed and chairs would really do with deep cleaning at least.

The internet didn't work (we had the same problem with another Smartflats apartment last year), we had to create a hotspot, which isn't ideal if you want to do anything like watching films. We also had problems with the water pressure and temperature in the shower :( I also would have appreciated some instructions on how to use the oven/microwave and the stovetop

The location is good, it is in between two metro stations. It is a nice size space, and there is a kitchen. The bed was comfy and the apartment is cosy and pretty quiet, and it overlooks a park which is lovely.

The staff are not particularly responsive.,We asked for heating instructions as it was very cold at night. They did not reply to my request so we were cold at night. The apartment below kept me awake all night as they were talking. I escalated these problems to the company who said they would escalate to management, but nearly 2 weeks later, no one had contacted me. If I would have been able to withold some of the payment, I would have.

The apartment is very big and well equipt. There is 1 ensuite with a shower, 1 with a bath and 1 double bed room. The kitchen is well equipt. The location is a 10 min walk to a train to the centre. There is a small playpark across the road. They also have Netflix, although we couldn't work out how to watch in English!

I tried to contact the host both by phone nd email and I just received an standard answer saying they redirected to technical service... never heard of them again. There was missing equipment compared to the description in booking (coffee machine) and the apartment lacks maintenance. For instance, you get very little water in the shower and the hot water comes and goes.

There’s a lot to say on my dislikes, I was highly disappointed as we had the toilet flush broken in the apartment, there’s no reception or staff on site - I had to send emails every time with a video or a photograph. The bed mattress in one of our bedroom had all springs broken so we had a terrible sleep. The apartment doesn’t have door locks in toilet and bathrooms. The crockeries and cutleries were dusty, so we had to clean them every time we use it. The staffs over the telephone support were super unfriendly and non cooperative. Overall I’d never recommend this to any of my friends in future.

The apartment is located in a very good locality of Brussels city, easily connected to the city Center and with some Carrefour supermarkets nearby for ease of grocery access as we travelled with a 6 year old kid. It was a 90sqm apartment.

There was absolutely no pressure from the shower head so it made it difficult to get clean. The toilet area was ice cold and no hot water there. The sofa bed that was old and uncomfortable. The neighbors were loud and the walls are very thin.

The water flow in the shower was very poor. It was dificult to take a shower in reasonable time, let alone to enjoy it. On the first day of my 3-days stay I was invited to share any issues so I did, but I got no reply.

Very good location for EU institutions, Spacious one-bedroom apartment. Easy access: Digital key at both doors (street and apartment) and I got the codes as soon as I booked.

There is something wrong with the drain in the bathroom, as the smell from the sewer comes back, so I suggest to keep the bathromm door close otherwise the whole flat will stink. Walls are thin: guest staying in the upper apartement were listening music late in the evening, the noise was annoying. Also, front door is stuck, everybody slams it. If you prefere silence, this won't be the right choose for you.

Flat is in the heart of the city, two metro stations in walking distance. Supermarket in in 5 min walk. Taxi ride from the airport was included in the price, driver waited for us as agreed. The flat is well equipped.

Our whole stay was unfortunately spoilt by the accomodation not having been cleaned on our arrival, which was nearly two hours after the check-in time allowed. Seeing dirty towels, bedsheets and unflushed toilets was not a nice arrival with two tired children. We half expected someone to still be staying as the place looked lived in - and so then we felt more worried about security than we would otherwise have done. The staff could not offer any alternative accomodation meaning that we had to go out again, after a long day already, and with all of our baggage, to find food, whilst the cleaners came. We were offered a late check out at the end of the stay which was no good to us at all in those circumstances. Though we asked to be notified when the cleaners had finished so that we knew we could return to the apartment, we were not contacted, so returned in trepidation to see if we would be able to stay in the accomodation we had booked or not. In fairness the cleaners then tidied the flat and cleaned perfectly well, however despite this the overall condition of the apartment was poor - peeling paintwork, poor lighting, dirty rug and dried vomit on one of the walls. The pictures of the apartment online were clearly out of date and a combination of this and other apartments. It was a really disappointing start to what had been a much anticipated trip - fortunately it did not ruin what was otherwise a great visit to a fantastic city.

Sofa and chairs not clean at all and quite disgusting! Stairs to get the flat horrible and dangerous for my parents and my bébé. The apartment was not as shown in the pictures, there were some things missing, the place was not safe, and there was noise there. They asked for a deposit, a photocopy of the passport, a signature, and a photocopy of the bank card. Things are exaggerated and I call the staff and they do not answer.

We liked the location of the apartment itself. However, we are very unhappy with the apartment; the photos on the booking page were different from the situation we found in the apartment. The curtains were torn, there were no curtains in the bedroom, there was no toilet in the two bathrooms, and the toilet was separate. In one washbasin, the water was clogged and did not flow, about which I wrote “Smartflat”, and asked the technical service, they asked me to send photos and I sent them, to which they ignored me and no one was sent. We had to buy a special liquid ourselves and after 5 days the water somehow leaked into the washbasin. In addition, when we opened the sofa we found terrible dirt and the mattress was dusty and dirty. Also on the third day, the heating and hot water turned off, I immediately wrote to the smartflats organization and called this company again, to which we received instructions on how to reset the tank, we explained that after resetting the tank, the heating tank did not work again. We barely managed on our own in such cold weather, but the next day we still had problems with hot water and heating. Despite our requests, no one came. I have been to many countries and we rented an apartment with Booking, but I have never experienced such unsuitable and terrible conditions anywhere. It also said "Dishwasher" and it was in a horribly dirty state and we couldn't wash the dishes. It also said TV, which was not there at all. there were no locks on the doors. I do not advise anyone to rent this apartment.

The toilet flusher was broke & it is also separate to the bathrooms. There was no curtain in one of the bedrooms on a window door that lead to a terrace. We had NO hot water the entire stay. It was the middle of December temperatures were in the minus and we had to have freezing cold showers every morning. We informed the property and made them aware we had a pregnant woman on the trip with us but they did not care as nothing got sorted. We did not receive any compensation or even an apology when we left. We read the reviews and took a chance but I would highly recommend avoiding this apartment if you would like a nice clean stay with hot water.

The location was a 20 minute walk to the town.
