Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWould have been nice to have had someone present to welcome. However, instructions about room and key were clearly communicated beforehand. Tea and coffee facilities are available but not in the room. The passing traffic can be noisy... probably due to the cobbled road. Minor quibbles really.
Wonderful breakfast with personable and helpful staff. The room was lovely and prepared carefully and thoughtfully to make it welcoming. Contacts after booking and prior to arrival were extremely helpful with clear instructions, directions and even photos to help. The room was very confortable and clean.

BrazilAbove the room we stayed in, there is another room and footsteps can be heard. Since we only stayed for one night, this wasn't a problem. Few TV channels available.
The place and room were clean and organized. The bathroom is very big. Breakfast was very well-served and punctual. It's close to the main square of the city with just a few minutes' walk. Nearby, we rented bicycles for a ride. There is a free shuttle that departs every 20 minutes from Brugge Station and drops you off just steps from the hotel. The accommodation provides cookies and candies in the room and common areas.

GermanyIt was one of the most beautiful B&Bs I stayed at in recent years. If you are looking for a get-away as a couple or alone, this B&B provides a special experience of being home away from home.

RomaniaThe mattress was too soft, but that's a matter of taste, maybe for others it's perfect like that
Everything was great, the room is very nice, very clean and warm, only a few minutes away from the main square. Breakfast was very delicious, couldn't wish for anything else and the girl who served it was very nice.

BrazilThe house is made of wood, so you can listen to people talking in the room next to yours and people going up and down the stairs. There isn't an elevator.
It's not really a hotel, but a house turned into a B&B. There isn't a reception or staff around, but they contacted me via whatsapp to let me know how to access the room. Irina (I think that's her name) goes to the house to prepare breakfast, and she's very helpful and friendly. They assisted us via whatsapp when needed. The room is really beautiful, and the bathroom looked like it'd been renovated recently. Breakfast was also great! Location is also good enough. It's a 10min-walk from the city center. But everything is beautiful in Bruges, so I didn't mind the walk at all.

AustraliaWe didn't find any information in the room about the electronic window shield and didn't know there was one as we arrived late at night and it was dark. The morning light was shining right into our eyes through the window in the ceiling. Some info about the room and local guide would be great!
Loved the cosy atmosphere, the delicious breakfast and the comfortable bed.

JapanIt is quite a trek coming from the station. I enjoy walking so I didn't mind walking the 30 minutes from the station to the B&B, however I didn't account for the brick roads that I had to roll my suitcase across. If you are staying here with lots of luggage, definitely take the bus to come here. Also, there is no elevator on the premise so please be aware of that as well.
Room was very nice, being next to the city center was a huge plus. Breakfast was very good as well. I also appreciated all the little snacks in the room as well.

United KingdomNothing to fault, if i have to mention i would say that the breakfast cost maybe a bit too high - 15 euros, but we have not tried, perhaps it is as amazing as the hotel.
Amazing place, lovingly decorated, comfy look and feel, very cosy. We arrived very late because our ferry was delayed and could check in no problem. It is very close to the centre with a car park nearby.

United KingdomThe biggest issue we found it was so cold in the room unfortunately. Also we checked in late so couldn’t really let anyone know only told the breakfast lady in the morning. Otherwise it would be a fantastic 10/10 but heating really messed me up - couldn’t really sleep well and it wasn’t a great experience.
The team Orhan and Irina are fantastic. The communication is brilliant, breakfast is nice and generous with great selection. Shower is great and nice and hot. Parking isn’t bad either perhaps need proper marking as I couldn’t find the garage number may be write it on the floor too.
