How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

there is no such thing. We are staying at the hotel for the second time and the impressions are nothing but wonderful.
a delicious big breakfast, a large selection of dishes, everything is delicious and wonderful. the hotel has a restaurant, very tasty cuisine and a large menu. you can have lunch and dinner. convenient location of the hotel when entering the city from the highway. a great location for overnight transit or for a trip around the city. modern and beautiful interior design, extremely attentive and polite staff, large and comfortable rooms, beautiful modern furniture. perfect cleanliness. we are happy to stay a second time and will come again if possible.

The place looks a bit bizarre being located above the huge shop selling washing machines. However, the territory of the hotel itself looks new and fresh, pleasant to see and visit. Pretty good for transit travellers.

They have a pool, but it closes at 19:00 😔
The staff was super friendly and spoke very good English, the beds were new and comfortable, bathroom was clean and the shower is big. Breakfast was cheap and very good, I would recommend it to future customers. All round a Great experience and will be coming again. Again I cannot describe how the receptionist made us feel, he was awesome and made us feel like we were special.

Improove a bit English and will be fantastic.
The staff is frendly and professional. They payed attention to us, we’ve feld welcome. The hotel is clean, new and well decorated. The pool is great for kids.

Not that I di not like it - just a friendly reminder: availability of hair drier in the bathroom would help a lot.
The hotel is situated in somewhat industrial part of Shumen but then you have a view towards the Shumen plat and over the lake. My room was enormous, spacious and well furnished. The restaurant is quite good and the breakfast is plentiful with excellent coffee.

Due to hosting engagement staff refused to prepare for us salad from the menu and we went for a dinner in Barbarosa restaurant on the other side of the lake, where the food was delicious - we had freshly prepared mussels, courgettes in Greek style and homemade lovely bread. Also due to wedding in the hotel garden the music was noisy under our window till late. Additional charge of 10 leva applies for using the swimming pool.
Hotel is luxury, clean, with a lovely garden and great view to the Shumen lake, in close distance from Barbarosa restaurant - 15 minutes lovely walk around the lake. Bedroom is good size, has an air conditioner with comfortable mattress.

We said we would return , so we did , and with GREAT pleasure. If the Management and staff of every other hotel , worldwide , had the same qualities as those at Acktion Deluxe the hotel industry would be Booming ; even in todays economic climate .

The staff was extra kind, and very professional in regards of fixing the miscommunication with the reservation. The room was clean, and with nice view to the lake. The breakfast was delicious.

Location and parking were well above the norm'.... But most importantly the management and staff were excellent , generous and really helpful. The restaurant cuisine was most acceptable. Will definitely return.

Everything was fine.
The hotel was on the outskirts of the city, which was great for us, as we had to leave early the next morning. The room looked out onto the garden and the pool and there was also a lake nearby. We liked the modern design of the room and bathroom, the comfortable beds and the efficient AC.

The room had a bad smell from previous smoking inside or something. Far from the city center but close to Barbarosa beach club
Nice, clean spacious room double room we got. Overall good value.

It is not a complaint with the hotel. Google Bulgaria messed up the location as they do all the time. Google Bulgaria needs a major revamp. 90 % of the the time they get the location wrong. And after being on the market for 10 years they should know that street is pronounced in Bulgarian as ULITZA NOT ULIKA. The managers at Google Bulgaria should be fired for their annoying inaction.. But.. I guess google is way too busy with the woke movement...
What a delightful stay! I came to stay here because booking.com messed up my reservation at the Black Sea. After having driven 600 kilometres I ended up in this oasis. And what an oasis it was.. It is one of the places I did not want to leave. The design, the interior, the staff. I cannot praise them all.

The shower was broken ,water was splashing everywhere.You had to pay extra for the primitive pool.Also there was no electricity the whole evening.

Staff though polite gets easily overwhelmed when more guests are at reception or especially at the restaurant. Also bill for more than 10 people at the restaurant came on one line with description food and drinks followed by a bulk amount. Which is totally unacceptable. Staff at reception makes copies of ID cards which breaks a lot of GDPR rules and should be investigated for that.
The room was comfortable, clean and with a nice view. The garden was also pleasant. Breakfast although somewhat pricey was delicious
