Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBack to the view. Though it is isn’t the fault of Kristal Beach it was hard to overlook the large ramshackle yard immediately below us, which seemed to be where beach refuse was collected & taken to plus piles of sun loungers in various stead of repair. Dilapidated to the point of looking virtually abandoned. It really was an eyesore in an otherwise great view. The pictures shown on Booking.com do not reflect what we actually saw from our balcony. No sign of all the wrecked sunbeds & large overflowing skips. I don’t know when these were taken (& presumably supplied by Kristal Beach) or if there was a special tidy up for them! On a similar theme were the large overflowing municipal rubbish skips & piles of black bin bags surrounding them. Regarding the apartment we would have liked slightly more comfortable seating on the balcony & in the living area. For the price paid we’d have expected a little more luxury/comfort. The apartment could sleep 4 with the sofa bed but this was the only comfy seating & would certainly be cosy for 4! For 2 it was okay.
Lots to like here. Excellent location just yards from the superb South Beach. Great sea view - if you keep your eye line up away from road level (see below for further info on this). Two balconies. Comfortable bed, ample wardrobe space, good shower. Air conditioning in both living area & bedroom. Small but very good pool - well maintained & quite a lot of sunbeds/deckchairs & shady umbrellas. Indeed the whole building & grounds are really well looked after. Liked the security of the site with fob access to entrance gate & lift. Close to numerous restaurants & a decent little supermarket. Good transport links with bus stops at the end of the street. Pleasant manager.

BulgariaWhen we first entered the room it had really bad odour. All the closets, wardrobe and cupboards smelled really bad. There is no lift to this floor, as it is bellow ground floor. It gets really noisy, because the apartment door does not isolate outside noises. Also the maiding service is very poor. For 8 nights, they cleaned the room only once. We couldn’t cope with their working hours. My advice is to leave the room before 10 am, or no cleaning will be provided. They did actually changed the sheets once on our second day, and brought fresh towels twice during our stay.
It is close to the beach. There are cutlery and other kitchen stuff, that may come in handy. The room is spacious, it has good A/C, and is cool during the night.

PolandThe parking is a little hectic, so if you have your car with you, it will require a little bit more logistics.
Really nice apartment, with a clean and spacious pool. Everyday cleaning was a nice surprise for me. In my opinion the best location in Nessebar for a family holiday.

United StatesParking scam alert!!!! Parking scam alert!!!!! On the website it says that there is a parking available on the side across the street for 12 leva. When we got there the girl at the parking told us it is 15 leva and that they have some kind of new system and don't know how to charge us per day instead per hour. When we supposed to leave after two days there were an old guy at the gate and said he must change us per hour (48hours), which I disagree and told him to call his manager or police but I will not pay 150 leva because this is a rip-off and that wasn't the agreement. After that thanks to my big mouth he printed a receipt for 30 leva but refuse to accept card payment and I gave him cash. And he kept us at the gate for another maybe 10 min. He wanted to change us 150 leva, put 30 leva in the cash register and pocket the rest. Be aware of parking scam. Especially if you don't speak Bulgarian!!!!! Make sure and record the conversation!!!!
Location is great. Just a few steps from the beach and great restaurant - Fast Food Golden Dune. The apartment itself was cozy. The lady who checked us in was very kind and helpful, gave us some extra tp and plastic cups since this is not a hotel and doesn't come with all amenities as usual. Bring your own shampoo and toothpaste. Make sure to use fan in the bathroom since the humidity is above 70%. I'm not sure if you can ask for extra towels but we had our own as well, so it worked out well.

BulgariaParking is available for free, but it's public and a reservation is not possible. Since the property is so near to the beach, it's hard to find available parking lot during the day.
The location of the property is great- very near to the beach, to some restaurants and grocery shops. The room was nice with decent size and with comfortable beds. It's good value for the money, especially if you're not looking for something fancy.

RomaniaUnfortunately, the hotel staff do not know English and it was a bit more difficult for us to communicate. But it helped their smiles. Another aspect was that there was often an unpleasant odor in the room.
The room was very clean and the people at the hotel were very friendly. We booked a room in the basement, with a balcony, and for our family, with two children aged 3 and 5, there was enough space to feel comfortable. The pool is very close and very well maintained and is available for children which was a delight. We were impressed by the hotel garden and the fact that the employees took great care of the plants. Our children watered the tree at the entrance to the hotel every day. We liked the fact that the hotel is very close to the beach. For us it was a big plus and the reason why we chose the hotel.

PolandPoor kitchen equipment (4 people = 4 plates, 4 forks, etc., nothing above that). Equipment used up, not the best quality.
Fantastic location, near to beautiful beach. Short walk to old town Nesebyr. Market opened until midnight and many bars & restaurants also very close. Apartment rather spacious, nice terrace. Quiet place, nice if you want to relax.

The stuff was coming to clean every day while we were on the beach but it was still dirty and full with sand. The siphon in the bathroom drained very slowly. It was a little expensive for the dirtiness throughout the stay.
The apartment is very close to the beach, just 5 min walk. We were 3 adults and a baby. There were enough household appliences to satisfy our stay
