Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDuvet was very narrow. We chose to stay at this hotel especially as there was a package which included local wine tasting and canapés each evening, live music and coffee and cakes available throughout the day. This turned out to be local white or red wine, or beer. Guitar music, good, but not the same as the photo of the harpist, and no sign of coffee during the day. Canapés have been replaced with some crisps and corn. Felt other guests were uncomfortable with the bar setting, not at ease, and didn't stay long.
Location great for shopping and sightseeing within walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was a wide ranging buffet with excellent choice of seasonal fruits homemade cakes, local delicacies, Bavarian cheeses, local honey and buttery croissants. Main reception staff spoke perfect English and were very helpful, supplying local maps and directions to buy Bavarian souvenirs. Quiet and peaceful room with bath robes and slippers. Welcome treat at both beginning and end of our stay. Taxi fare included in our room package. Lovely art works on display.

United KingdomOK, the lobby bar. Think a 1970's working men's club and you will be ok. On the hotel web site it lists "free wine degustation, free drinks and lovely little snacks" if you have the VIP package. This translates into would you like red or white. There is some beer and spirits, but again think working men's club. However, the wine was quite nice. The "lovely little snacks" with picture of prawn canapes etc on the web site turns out to be crisps, nuts, popcorn etc. Ah, not exactly what I had expected. And the relaxing music was country and western guitar - both nights the performer was quite good, but not the relaxing cello player in the photo / description. As I said in the title, very hard to rate the hotel. The bits that worked, they worked very well. But the lobby bar - well, in the UK that would fall foul of the Trades Description Act (or its updates) for false advertising. A real pity. But then, I did enjoy my stay......
Got the room we had booked, which was very clean, bed very comfortable and firm mattress, well stocked mini bar. Breakfast room was very quirky with oil paintings, prints, furnishings etc. Breakfast food was very good, no restrictions on quantity, and a lot of local produce. The two ladies on the reception desk spoke excellent English, were able to quickly book a taxi (on all occasions we only had a 3-5 min wait), and gave advice on the local area. The staff who spoke little / no English tried hard to be understood. The general feeling was that the staff wanted to succeed. The lift (elevator) although small worked very well, and very quietly. There was no sound issues at all in our room (at the back of the hotel). Comfortable sofas in reception. Excellent location for the sights, most within a 15 mins walk.

United StatesI LOVED everything. The wifi could somehow improve.
The bedt part of Art’Otel is its amazing staff. Everyone at the reception, at breakfast, and at evening happy hour is super pleasant, kind, attentive, and loving. Breakfast is five star: homemade typical Bulgarian cuisine, variety of fruits, typical European breads, local jams, honey in comb, and you name it. They give you their heart with their food. They do everything possible for you to feel at home. Their generosity is unique.

United StatesThis would have been a 10 star rating if not for the slightly shabby appearance. The carpets are frayed and need replacing as well as some of the window coverings.
The hospitality here is over the top incredible. They go out of their way to ensure comfort and satisfaction. No request is too great or too small. The breakfast was the best of our 5 week trip in the Balkans.

SpainAll perfect! And the welcome candies were delicious!
Large, clean, quiet double room with a large, comfortable mattress and perfect pillows for sleeping. Bathroom equipped with everything. Quiet room which allowed us to sleep well after long days of tourism. Breakfast is plentiful, with sweet and savory dishes, typical and European dishes. Definitely worth including in your living room. The location of the hotel is perfect and allows you to walk everywhere: you can reach museums and monuments in 5-10 minutes. The best restaurants in Sofia are 3/5 minutes away. Furthermore the The staff (who speak English perfectly) are kind, attentive and thoughtful. The last one day they allowed us to delay check out by an hour and booked us a taxi to the airport, checking the license plate to make sure everything was fine. We will definitely return to this hotel, I highly recommend it.

IsraelThe cappuccino from the machine in the dining room was very sweet. We end up drinking espresso or taking coffee in the boulevard.
Beautiful and classic hotel in the heart of Sofia, two minutes walk from Vitosha boulevard. The staff was very friendly, enthusiastic to assist on any question / enquiry we had (we had an issue with a missing luggage). As promised, the transfer cost from the airport was covered by the hotel smoothly. Breakfast is rich and diverse, with fresh breads, cheese, fruits and vegetables and of course Banitsa.

All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel’s location is one of the best for seeing the sights of the city. Breakfast was a full buffet with a wide selection. The staff worked hard to make sure everything was available during the breakfast hours.

The service at the hotel was great. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. BulgariaAs a queer couple we felt totally welcome. They were so welcoming and caring. We requested gluten free options at breakfast as I am a coeliac. They welcomed me into breakfast immediately explaining what I could eat, gluten free bread was already on the buffet. When we returned from our afternoon out we were offered a complimentary drink and I was presented with a gluten free cake treat. I felt spoilt.

IsraelGenerally, everything was fine, this is an old building that needs some updating, for example, the door in the room to the bathroom was noisy and the elevator very slow, but these are only small details
Very nice boutique small hotel in the center of Sofia. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are rather large, with copious breakfast offering a large variety of pastries and local homemade bakeries. Location is great, lots of restaurants around and just near Vitosha Blvd. Excellent place for a short stay. Free drinks and usually live music between 18:00 - 20:00 everyday
