The hotel is absolutely beautiful and perfectly located for sightseeing in Plovdiv. It is on top of a small hill that is very easy to get to and only a 1 minute walk away from the ancient amphitheatre. The staff are kind and took care of us very well, everyone was super friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the view of the church next door and found it very peaceful. There is a good selection of Bulgarian wines in their collection. We had a wonderful stay overall and would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was a magical experience. A recently restored building at the heart of Plovdiv's breathtaking old town, a few steps away from the astonishing amphitheatre of Philippopolis, this hotel is simply unique, a thing of beauty. Our room was a lovely mini king, with a very comfortable bed, AC, minibar and original art, which can be seen throughout the building. The old town is extremely quiet at night too. The signature breakfast was excellent and original. A special mention must go to the reception team: helpful, attentive, friendly. We had some excellent recommendations of restaurants and bars to try. Such a memorable stay Thank you!

It’s a nice small boutique hotel very close to the Roman amphitheater. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and it wasn’t noisy at night. The staff were really helpful, and made a restaurant booking for us. There’s also a nice courtyard where you can have a drink, read a book etc.

The room was relatively small, but that's because it is in an old building. As someone who uses a walking stick, I would have felt safer on the stairs with a proper banister rail. Driving up to the hotel, and parking, are both something of an adventure - the streets are very narrow and very bumpy at the top of the Old Town.

The breakfast was spectacularly good - you have to choose the night before because things are freshly baked. The spinach quiches and the croissants were excellent! The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The staff were exceptionally helpful.

Superb location, fabulous gourmet breakfast option, classical building with an elegant timeless decor. It's a gem in Bulgaria's crown. Vasil, the concierge, was a true gentleman and offered to help with anything we needed. He's a real asset to the establishment.

We couldn’t find anything to dislike.

My husband and I loved everything about the property itself, but it was the staff that made it a truly amazing place to stay. We were only there for one night but will return every time we are in Bulgaria and recommend it to anyone traveling in the area. It is located right next to two beautiful churches, which is an added bonus.

I think the price point can be adjusted down by 20% due to the size of the room and hotel and the lack of amenities (understandable by the history of the building - it simply cannot be bigger). Still, rooms are quite small, no bathtub or balcony and there is just a tiny restaurant with nothing else to do at the actual hotel. That is why I don’t think the price is entirely justified compared to similarly priced stays.

Service and breakfast were wonderful. There was an option for a chef-prepared brunch. Best hotel breakfast we’ve seen in a long while. Staff was professional, welcoming and polite. Bed was large and comfortable. Very well situated hotel in the quaint old part of town.

Thé Location is fantastic. Spotlessly clean and the bed was enormous and comfortable. The streets are cobbled and still have the drainage channel down the middle as in Roman times. There are no cars so the area feels very old. You are just 20 steps away from the amphitheatre.

The hotel is very elegant and refined. It's also clean and smells nice. It's located in the Old Town, so getting there might be a hassle due to the uphill rocky road. However, that also makes the location very picturesque. My room was big and clean, and I could even play soft background music with the push of a button. The toiletries were also exquisite, the bed was huuuge and soft, and breakfast was creative and delicious. The staff were also very polite and helpful.
