This boomer struggles with scanning QR codes to view an online menu. I much prefer to peruse a physical menu.

I think the hotel was originally built in the Socialist era. However, the room was refurbished to a basic but comfortable standard. The rest of the hotel is a work in progress. Several breakfast options, rather than a buffet. Huge portions for items on the dinner menu.

The property is a bit dated, but I feel this is reflected in the price. The only negative is that our room smelt of cigarettes.

Although a bit of a dated property, it was good value for money and had everything that you would require. The food in the restaurant was brilliant and affordable.

The 2nd time i have stayed here, having experienced the small single room i decided to "upgrade" to a double for more space and comfort, i was only allocated a single as i was single occupant, i didn't complain just accepted. Although the rooms are modernised the furniture is basic, but useable and a single electric socket just isn't enough anymore. I suppose for the price i shouldn't complain :-) It's an old Communist building in serious need of an upgrade everywhere.

Waitress in restaurant was grumpy she acted like she didn’t want to be there .

Very comfortable bed , good air con and wifi , gps took us to different area but it’s directly opposite train station . Great restaurant with plenty of choice , average prices . Stains on walls but this was no bother to us . Good shower

The driver wasn’t able to collect the invoice upon checkout. It’s not clear why; it was very early in the morning and his Bulgarian is limited. Possibly the person on checkout did not know how to generate it. Maybe a good idea to wait for the day shift :) PS: It was easy to get the faktura afterwards - I asked, it was sent immediately :)

The location was easy to find. Secure parking accessible to our large works truck gave peace of mind. The restaurant was excellent.

The service was good, people was helpful and the most important: it was working air conditioner when outside temperature was 40 degrees. Clean room, very good food in the restaurant and good service.For the small city i would say my expectations were lower but our stay was good.

Cherven Briag is a small town, as such you are restricted where you can stay, i chose this Hotel, mainly for the very competitive price on offer. I can say with confidence that i have/had no issues at all, ok the rooms are simply furnished but everything works as it should. The bed was very comfortable, which is the most important. The restaurant served the tradition Bulgarian fare which i found particularly to my liking (when in Rome etc etc) and at reasonable prices. with free parking also what is there not to like. i read on other reviews that the Hotel is difficult to find with GPS, i didn't have this problem, tho travellers, when staying, should head for the train station, the hotel is opposite :-)

The reception personnel had no idea of the Booking offers. The manager came in drunken and started explaining to them how to do their job. One of the rooms smelled like sewers constantly from the bathroom. The window was broken and there was no way to air the room from the smell.

Some of the restaurant staff were reluctant to engage with us due to not being able to speak English. We got by with simple communication through those that could speak a little English.

It was clean and comfortable and we were able to keep our bicycles safely secured in the lobby. The restaurant served nice food and the hotel even provided a laundry service for our clothes which was much appreciated after days on the road.

Yes, it is probably a renovated old communist hotel. And it shows, as it looks a bit run down, from the outside. Nothing too problematic, as rooms are great, For the staff, english is an issue, though I did manage to find one lady in the restaurant staff that did speak english. Room doors don`t soundproof very well.

This is a classic example of a hotel that under promises and MASSIVELY overdelivers. This is rated as 1 star but in reality it could easily rate as 2, if not 3 star. New air conditioning, new bathroom appliances, new windows to soundproof from outside and card based access, kind staff. Restaurant downstairs, with great prices and decent food, a parking area (granted, a bit hidden, but...it is free parking), in the very center of the city. What more can you ask for? Will certainly visit again. Great job to the management and staff.

no heat in the room , advertising Twin-bed is actually more like sleeping on a 2x4 even small as a single bed. walls are completely Dirty and stained everything is dirty and not cleaned. cabinets is broken. it it an old Soviet area Hotel. advertised pictures are not the actual condition of the room ….. this on of the most terrible experience I had with Booking.com also Booking.com website claimed only one room available even do the hotel was almost completely empty. further Booking.com did not gave me the option to first check the Hotel out on arrival since It mandated prepaid disgusting experience which make me rethink my affiliation with Booking.come

Bathroom is not comfortable, there is nowhere to hang the towel, too little space for take shower. The staircase is not repaired, the windows in the staircase are not cleaned.

Good hotel for one night, rooms are clean, bathroom is new, comfortable beds.
