Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe limited choice of wines
Proximity to Strandzha mountains and beach. The food quality and choices. The friendliness of staff. The nature around the hotel and local area.

Czech RepublicAfter arriving at the hotel after an unsightly and unkempt road, we were given a room that should never have been rented to anyone. It should be either walled or free. Dirty carpet, peeling 20-year-old wallpaper, holes in the ceiling, disgusting bathroom, dead insects, dirty sheets, and so on = you don't want all this on vacation with a 2-year-old child. The hotel is nowhere near worthy of 3 stars, with both eyes closed I would he gave him a small one - very small. Staff: almost no one spoke English - except the employee at the reception, who knew 3 words: yes, later, manager. The employee behind the bar had nothing else to do but smoke, absolute unwillingness and unprofessionalism, not to mention the untaped beer in the fridge from the previous day. The nicest staff was Ukrainian in the restaurant, all the others were without a smile. The cleaners cleaned the trash can only after insisting at the reception, they didn't vacuum the room at all, they didn't clean the bathroom at all, the air conditioning didn't work. Towels not changed. After insisting at the reception, we got a better room with a view of the sea, which was also not cleaned by anyone. Food: good. Given the fact that we have already been to Bulgaria several times and we like it, judging from our experience with accommodation in quality hotels, this "hotel" is nowhere near prepared for an international clientele, disabled guests, families with prams and certainly not for the name "hotel". The absence of the option to pay by card, a broken pool table, terrible music from the bar by an unwilling employee and the absence of a children's corner for families with children, which is an absolute matter of course today, as well as an access ramp for a wheelchair or stroller, make the "hotel marina***" one cheap hostel. Total failure of the hotel management, therefore NEVER AGAIN.

BulgariaThe staff is very nice except one woman who seems to be a manager (or at least somehow in charge). She almost ruined all the good impression of our staying there. We have experienced some challenges on check-in with a dog, the reaction of manager was pretty confusing. Pretty high extra fee for a dog (like + >10 EUR/day) - due to "it is harder to clean the room". Nevertheless, no cleaning during our stay was performed (4 days), only the garbage was removed from trash basket - I see no connection to daily extra fee for a dog (not to mention "good service"). Our friends have unpleasant experience - on the hint to a cleaning lady that they were out of toilet paper and a shower gel, the manager has came and started blaming them in aggressive manner: "the guests MUST request the toilet paper and a shower gel on the reception". That was some kind of new experience. A strange one. Some challenges to find napkins, salt and pepper during the breakfast. Poor conditions of shower.
Great room with pretty big balcony, great view, beach is very close to hotel, parking is at the hotel entrance, several good restaurants on a walking distance from hotel. Nice bar. I would say "Very good" about the staff, and "Below acceptable" for manager. Breakfast was fine.
