Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe alcohol was so cheap at the bars. When the meals time was over, to stuff aggressively took the food in front of your face.
I like the "all inclusive" program and the variety of pools . The stuff tried cooperative most of the time. The shows in the evenings were funny and interesting. The meals were basic but tasty.

RomaniaThe pools were a little small for such a big hotel & there were just a few animation activities a day. Also, the sunbeds from the beach are not enough for all the guests.
The food was delicious, especially the desserts.

TurkeyAs it was end of season there was no comfortable lounge to sit in for the evening, the lobby area was available but with only a couple of settles and uncomfortable chairs. In my opinion they should make the lobby/reception/bar area more comfortable for guests.
Rooms/ pools/ food/ lovely friendly staff.

RomaniaI would have liked the staff to be more smiling, I understand that they are tired and it is the end of the season. Although it was not as I expected, it is a tourist experience during Covid and end of season.
Maybe if we were in season things would have been different. Very few people, reduced programs for tourists, as for the end of the season. But very clean, the rooms are cleaned daily, rooms, even if we did not receive what was on offer, very comfortable. Sufficient and diversified food.

Amazing stay! Staff were so friendly, everyone spoke English which was convenient! The food was great, lots of variety and we ate there every day for 10 days! The booze was strong, we drank ourselves silly a couple of days, thanks for the cocktails and spirits ! There’s a few different pools, 3 slides which are great, the tunnel slide is so fun. I will 100% be back next year!

RomaniaThe room was ok, big and clean, everything was super comfortable. The food is tasty, I`d say with a Spanish theme, lots of fish and seafood everyday, paellas or beef, live cooking stations where they prepare grilled pork, fish or chicken. The drinks are also ok, fair quality for soft drinks, wine and cocktails. Draft beer looks an tastes almost like soda water. The staff is hard working and very helpful but it lacks smile and good disposition. Not necessarily a minus, but its the first 4* hotel I've seen using dispensers everywhere, like the ones you usually see in the toilets at the gas stations for soap or toilet paper, you can find them here in your bathroom. The restaurant was crowded because for some economy reasons they decided to close 2 of the 3 restaurants available when the hotel was almost full. I stayed at this hotel couple of years ago when it was Iberostar and to be honest Iberostar was by far better than Melia, even better than Melia Grand Hermitage wich is a 5* hotel (where I stayed). At Melia the main keyword is "economy". Economic taps and dispensers in the bathrooms, economic lights with sensor on the corridors, average food and drinks quality though some are very tasty and varied. Overall its a good and clean hotel to which I would return, but in full season doesn't worth the money. Melia is definitely not Iberostar!

RomaniaSocial distancing was not a thing, all sun beds by the pool were very close. Also the tables at the restaurant. Not all guests were wearing masks inside (eg in elevators), although signs were everywhere Beds were not that comfortable, matress seems old, very slipery, the 2 matresses distance between themselves during sleep We had the room at 8th floor and it was noisy at all times due to some venting tubes It was quite chilly at the time we arrived, central heat was not on because was beginning of September, we received extra blankets
Staff is very nice and helpful, they all wear masks, desinfectant is available everywhere Facilities are great, big rooms, many pools and sun beds, several restaurants, inside pool with warm water, great fir kids when outside is chilly Food was very good, all the thing we tried were delicious Breakfast was the same everyday, but there were a lot of things you could choose from each morning not to repeat yourself Mini disco for kids every evening, kids enjoyed it a lot

RomaniaI didn't like the coffee, the queues at the beach bar and the pool bar, the fact that there aren't enough sunbeds on the beach for all the tourists in the hotel, at 8 o'clock you can't find a free sunbed, they are all kept busy with towels.
I liked the big rooms, the food, the daily activities.

RomaniaThere were not enough lounge chairs for everyone, both at the pool, but especially at the beach. If you want to stay at the beach, then you'd better like waking up very early in the morning or else walk through towel reserved chairs and find none free. The food was mostly tasty, but that's because it was full of artificial flavoring, which it needed, since the raw ingredients were mostly of the poorest quality. I was kind of expecting this, but I've definitely had much better in Golden Sands. Diversity was lacking as well and they recycled a lot of uneaten dishes. The food was by far the worst part. Sunny Beach itself is a mixed bag. The area around the hotel is pretty nice, you have a small amusement park nearby as well, but stray a bit further and you'll see plenty of old, decrepit buildings and sex shops/erotic clubs, which is strange for a place with so many families that visit. Again, Golden Sands is better in this regard.
By far the best part of the experience was the staff. Everyone was very friendly, always willing to help, never rude, just great 10/10. There are also nightly shows from the animation team and other performers, which are a bit hit and miss (one night the animation team decided that running around but naked in front of tens of children was somehow funny) but they are a nice change of pace. The hotel was also clean and its placement is great for the region.
