How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the hostel lacks a common area. it would be nice to have a space for socializing with other guests. other than that this is hostel provides great value and i would definitely stay here again.
great value for the money. the hostel has a kitchen, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the hostel staff was friendly. within walking distance of supermarkets and restaurants.

WC and shower at same spot is a bit unpractical. All the codes for the code locks on the doors are a bit hard to remember (but it works)

No staff, robotic check-in with code at the door. Screeching noisy beds. No kitchen, no common area to connect with other guests. Just to know what to expect, so to enjoy the others great benefits 😀
Comfortable, clean, absolutely quiet, courtyard far from city noise. Inexpensive. Warm. Tiny shower in tiny toilet but good enough.

The pillows are small and a bit uncomfortable and the bathroom and toilet are very small.
Cozy and easy to find. Self check in is very comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. The location is the best - close to the main pedestrian street and Kapana district.

Loved this place- kitchen was small/not a lot of space to socialise but I'm listing it here in the positives because it wasn't a negative! Met some great people in my room in the Pijama House (there are 2 locations- 'Hostel' and 'House', 5 minute walk from each other) and we had a great time chatting in the room. Privacy curtains on the beds, A/C, a window for fresh air. Bathroom wasn't glamorous but was also standard for the area, so felt true-to-location and was no big deal. Met the owner a couple times and he was the loveliest and checked in to see that everything was just fine. Easy to contact and quick to respond too! Clean bedding, towel provided, quiet area at night but also in the heart of the nightlife of Plovdiv, so it was perfect. Easy to find. Enjoyed it a lot and amazing price too. Loved this place! Would stay again.

The beds were not very comfortable and the bin in the shared bathroom was already full when we arrived.
Great location, easy self check-in and good communication. Perfect for spending some days in Plovdiv!

Small bathroom.
They give towel, there's locker with key all within the price. No extra charges like many other hostels. All beds have privacy curtain that is a big advantage in a hostel. In all Bulgaria I couldn't find similar facilities in any hostel. It is also very easy to find. It's well marked in google and maps me. Very strong WiFi. Full security with key pad.

Very small bathroom and shower.

Restroom is kind of small. Room is quite small too.
Great value! It has laundry machine on site, which is not that common in Bulgaria. Furniture is IKEA products I believe.

The beds are noisy when turning around. The bathroom is very small, you shower almost on top of the toilet, LOL.

the area in front of the property is not very presentable but i guess because it is a shared area with other owners
location is perfect. parking is a problem, but you can park for free 4-5 blocks away - 10-15 min walk. paid parking in the area as well
