The food and drink in the restaurant, although good, was limited in choice and there were no other cafes / bars or restaurants within several kilometres. But that's not the hotel's fault.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and a good stopping off point on our journey.

This is a little off the beaten track and we needed Google Maps to find it. They closed the dining room on the second night but didn't tell us. It's a 15 minute walk into Belene itself, but it was deserted and there were no restaurants open. Luckily we found a husband and wife owned shack that cooked us a pork steak. They had no menus so we used Google Translate to convey our need for food. The wife brought some meat out from the freezer and we picked a couple of pieces. They were great hosts but we couldn't understand a word they said. Unless you speak Bulgarian you need Google to get you through a visit to this area.

We received a room upgrade as the hotel was quiet. A balcony overlooking the river was shared with house martins (they eat the mosquitos that you might get on a river). We felt close to nature. We had a giant bed and loads of space in the room, there was a decent cold buffet breakfast and the dining room has excellent river views.

An almost hidden gem on the northern shore of Danube (Belene), it boasts tranquil beautiful views over the river; decent continental breakfast; clean large enough rooms with balcony; free parking & working wi-fi; restaurant menu lacks most traditional Bulgarian dishes, but fresh water fish is available with prices / 100 g; decent cooking overall, but grilled catfish was delicious; beautiful seasonal outdoor swimming pool; kind staff; decent prices, but not cheap; overall it’s well above its two star rating;

Staff is friendly and helpful, location is very good - close to the centre and park, but most importantly on the river with the best view! It was so peaceful and recharging - perfect for leisure and business trips. I didn't have lunch or dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast was as always very delicious - like homemade one.

Nothing displayed in the the booking pictures related to facilities is correct. There are no bikes to rent, no ATVs, the gym was under construction.

Situated near the river Danube, the hotel has a splendid view to the nature. The rooms are bigger then as we expected, comfortable and clean. Even if we arrived late, they manage to give us a wonderful and delicious dinner. The beds are good, bathroom clean, the breakfast good, too. The staff was very helpful all the time.

The bathroom is very small. You can basically take a shower while sitting on the toilet. Some metal grills in the bathroom were rusted. AC was leaking over the building entrance. It could drip on you. Gym entrance was flooded. There was a private party for a kid and told us that we can order food only after the party is over. We waited and then they told us that the kitchen is closed and we won't eat. In the end, after complaining, they served us. Breakfast below expectations.

The amenities were very poor. The toilet did not work. The shower is very old and spreading the water everywhere else but where it is supposed to. The pillows and the beds were very uncomfortable.

Staff was great, very friendly and polite. The breakfast was delicious. The location is also very good. It was very quiet and calm. The view from the balcony is a killer.

Very limited choice of breakfast; breakfast food of the cheapest quality; some of the staff members were inadequate, ineffective and unfit (the manager did his best to cover their deficiencies, I guess they just need proper training).
