Nothing - Villa Flavia is faultless!

Everything! From the welcome on arrival until we checked out, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. It is obviously a great pleasure for them to work there. A beautifully restored property with the most perfect attention to detail on every aspect. Amazing facilities throughout and the Courtyard and Rooftop Terrace are great for relaxing and the views! I particularly enjoyed the historical tour given by one of the owners.

This is honestly the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff were exceptionally polite, accommodating and friendly. The room was perfect with high quality toiletries and a great (complimentary) selection in the mini-bar. A highlight of the holiday was eating breakfast on the beautiful terrace. The owner of the hotel gave us a tour the of the roman bath ruin under the hotel which was extra special. If I ever come back to Plovdiv again I will look to stay here.

No problems at all !

Great proximity to shops, food places and all historical attractions. Room was lovely, very modernised hotel. Room was spacious and unique, toiletries included additional items available by request, complimentary drinks from mini bar as well as clean glasses and coffee machine in room. Good sized bathroom with all amenities needed. Great tv good channels. Top floor balcony was great, places to sit and lovely view. Hotel was peaceful and no noise obstructions from within hotel or outside. Beautiful ancient ruins under hotel which were shown by hotel staff as part of a mini tour. Breakfast was good and large variety, something for everyone. Staff were amazing, very attentive and helpful, gave lots of information and recommendations as well as helped with booking taxi. You can tell how much this hotel means to the staff, it was a beautiful place to stay.

It’s an absolute gem and one of the best, if not the best, hotels in Plovdiv. Located on top of ancient Roman baths (literally in the basement), the hotel employs amazing helpful staff and features beautiful rooms and lobby.

Excellent hotel. Room, bed, bathroom quality - A-Plus!! Very friendly and helpful staff (Stella) and also the owners whom I met. Nice breakfast, welcome drink. Very cozy boutique hotel at an excellent location . Excavated Roman bath was a big surprise for me and enjoyed taking a tour of it with the owner. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Underneath the hotel there are remains of an old Roman bath house, which you'll be able to see with the hotel staff. The hotel itself is brand new. Our room was clean and very comfortable (good bed, shower etc). Breakfast was very good as well with good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice, which you can enjoy inside or outside in the courtyard. Friendly and helpful staff and owner. Great location. We loved everything about our stay there and would definitely stay again if we're ever back in Plovdov!

There was absolutely nothing to complain about.

The location is perfect as it borders old-town Plovdiv on one side, and the long shopping street "Knyaz Alexander I" on the other, where in minutes you reach great shops, restaurants and terraces. The Roman bath house discovered in the basement during the hotel's 6 years of rebuilding and renovation, was integrated into the hotel with great care by the new owners after Plovdiv's archaeological excavation. The atmosphere of Roman times can also be found in the beautifully decorated courtyard where you can enjoy your breakfast or lunch. The luxurious atmosphere, intimate service and unique style, combined with up-to-date modern furnished rooms and bathrooms makes staying in this hotel a great and unforgettable experience, more than just an overnight stay. Both the owners, the entire staff of Villa Flavia, including the cleaning ladies, are extremely customer-friendly. They are always ready to help or answer your questions, and always up for a pleasant chat. Although for certain reasons the hotel is rated as a 3-star hotel (e.g. because they do not have that many rooms), Villa Flavia definitely deserves a 5 star rating in our opinion. We stayed there for 10 nights (3 + 7), and will definitely return to this hotel on every future visit to Plovdiv.

All was perfect

The hotel is like a museum, there are remains of a Roman bath in the basement and they propose tours to explain the remains every morning. Exceptionally beautiful and cozy, family owned boutique hotel. The staff is adorable and always looking to help and making sure your stay is as confortable as possible. The breakfast is delicious, the quality of food is very good Location is also very good, you’re within a walking distance of all sites to visit

Location is perfect. The hotel is modern and at the same time you are staying in place with so much history- a Roman bath in the basement of the building!!!

The room would benefit from a little more storage space (the closets are quite small).

Villa Flavia is a modern place with a classic/elegant vibe, built on the ruins of the Roman Thermae. The attention to details from the personalized welcome message that you find on all the flat screens in your room till the different USB sockets in the wall, everything is well designed to meet your expectations. The staff is more than helpful and obliging. They even conducted a guided tour of the ruins underneath and recommended us the best tours and sights to visit. They even give you a list of places to eat in the area, with recommendations considering the price/quality ratio. The patio is quiet and charming with a nice display of some artifacts found on the site. There is also a supervised area for parking with 24/7 access. The location is right next to the Old City and most of the important sites are within walking distance. The breakfast is amazing, with lots of home made tasty products, including local ones.

All was perfect

Everything! Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, location in easy reach of everything you would want to see yet set just away from the bustle of the town. The owner and staff are clearly passionate about their guests and equally important given the uniqueness of the building , they are incredibly passionate about preserving the ancient heritage that lies beneath the hotel. The Roman bath carefully excavated beneath the hotel is accessible for guests and is a wonder to behold, especially when you are given a tour and an explanation from the staff on how and more importantly why they set out and achieved what they have. All the staff are amazingly helpful, the check in from a high-fiving Vasilli was a great introduction to a truly memorable stay. An absolute pleasure and a privilege to have stayed here.

Villa Flavia is the perfect place to stay in Plovdiv - I will surely return here! The history of the place and its architecture are amazing. BONUS - I love their rooftop terrace, great place to spend the evenings. Also, the toiletries are high quality, plus their offer a FREE minibar. All the STAFF were amazing, super friendly.
