How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The rooms look a little dated. Very nice finished but you can notice the design is from some time back. The TV with few Chanels in English. Not enough charging ports :)
This is a familiar place. This hotel is one of my choices when going to Manama for some R&R. It has all I need if I just want to stay and relax for a day.

As I mentioned before the breakfast menu. Because you have allot of western visitors, please look a some of those breakfast options.
We have stayed in the hotel previously. It has aways been a great visit to the hotel. This stay was a great stay for us. The Hotel staff was exceptional, and the service we received was really nice. I think the food can be improved. Example Breakfast, in the past had more western options and the quality of the food was better. Other restaurants we visited were good. SPA personnel did a great job, I would recommend them to everyone.

Need more choices of restaurants and bars. Parking can be challenging during busy hours but valet parking is available. Swimming pool is a bit small.
Nice location and it is almost 10 min drive to main downtown attractions. You can walk to old souq too. We felt comfortable and relaxed during our stay.

Choice of food for the breakfast. The main swimming pool was closed because of ramadan preparation but it was not advertised and swimming pool was one the most important criteria because of kids. Room was smelling cigarette even if I choose a non smoking room because there is only one royal suite which is neither smoking or non smoking room.

In the check in our reservation was for two room with twine beds the person on the counter said one room not a vailbel and when we insist or we will cancilled our reservation he gave us two room in separate floor and we are one family
My reservation without breakfast but the second day I chose to take my breakfast in hotel it is good and satisfying

The club lounge doesn't allow children in the evenings which wasn't explained to us when booking.
Great facilities (pool, gym and squash court. Location is great for families, good view and just across the road from a children's playground. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Very dark rooms - tiny windows, so fully reliant on electricity. Understand that it is a very hot country, so limited sunlight is generally welcomed. However, way too dark still.
Great central location with easy access and parking. Nice restaurants, including a great steakhouse. Very neat indoor pool. Friendly people and generally good price/quality

Road congestions while driving to the hotel but shouldnt be a problem if you use taxis. Smaller breakfast serving area impacting the cuisines diversity by a little.
Extremely polite, welcoming and accommodating staff. I mean seriously accomodating. 3 minutes walking distance from the local market with local shops and local restaurants. Spotless clean. Very comfortable rooms. Everything worked in the room which is rare in hotels. Beautiful breakfast area and the best staff I came across in the breakfast service.

There was the situation during breakfast where the Ferrari team came in and sat everywhere. One person per some of the tables where they could have sat more together and be considerate of the other guests.
Everything went well. We will continue to stay at the Intercontinental Bahrain.

NONE. The facility, staff, and ambiance were spotless! Apart from a faint smell of cigarettes in the corridors, there was nothing I could complain about.
Breakfast was cozy with enough variety, ample space and ambiance, and a superb chef and staff. The room was outstanding, and the bed was very very comfortable/cozy.
