How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The soundproofing between rooms could have been better - you could hear conversations through the walls, but the windows kept the sound of the street out.
Location excellent Room offered great views over Copacabana. Breakfast mostly good choices - but only ever 1 choice of egg ie scrambled only every day

Some can find the room a bit too smal for 3. We meesed some additional hooks and shelves.
Great location - a short walk to the Copacabana beach. We've got a room with a sea view and enjoyed it during our stay. Good breakfast, enough seats. Room is modern and clean.

We missed some hooks or shelves, especially some place to put the swim trunks,etc on.
Perfect location - just in the middle of Coppacabana, with lots of shops and restaurants. Quick walk to the beach. We enjoyed the breakfast, the whole family loved the cheese bread. The room was rather small for 3 but neat. The coctails on the roof are really good to try.

Great location at the Copacabana beach, just a 5 min. walk to the next Metro station; very friendly and helpful staff; clean, spacious and well-equipped room with air conditioning and a fridge to cool beverages; delicious breakfast with a big selection.

Breakfast could be improved. Porters could help with luggage to the room especially if one has more than 1 luggage.

Front desk charged me $100 USD to check-in early but I was too tired to say no. The pool is small and positioned awkwardly. Only 2 elevators for public guest usage.
Breakfast was amazing and changed a little everyday. Staff spoke English.

Linen . Need to replace the towels etc. Totally worn out. Need to fix and clean certian items in the room like chairs are dirty .NO IRON in the room or in the hotel
Location is great. Right in front of the beach. Breakfast is good but not too fancy. Rooms are clean although need some looking into like things being loose in the bathroom. They need to look at the linen as the bath towels were no better than wiping clothes.

The air conditioning was too too loud/noise. Housekeeper not always sweeping the room
It was nice to have breakfast included in the cost, the fruits was excellent; however they need more meat varieties for those who don't eat pork. The location is excellent, right off the beach with exceptional view if you have a room facing the beach.

I guess in Copacabana you are kind of walking into the 90's, could they update their interior? If they did I think they'd get a positive wave from that. The breakfast was ok.
The room view to the beach, and the rooftop vibe were all feelgood moments and of a good standard. Interactions with the hotel staff was also pleasant, they're attentive and to the point.

The initial room they gave us had a musky smell but they accommodated us by changing us to another room.

Traffic may be heavy at certain period of day. May take longer than expected if required to travel from the hotel to other places.
Location is located just right in front of Copacabana Beach. Breakfast spread is simple but delicious. Room is clean and well kept. Staff are able to communicate in English.
