I have stayed in this hotel before and was pleased to return, its location is excellent very close to the beach and close to all the restaurants and bars around Placa de Paz and to Nossa Senhora da Paz metro station. Served breakfast (not a buffet) is good

The breakfast was awesome, the room is of the perfect size, it includes bath amenities. Staff was very helpful and help us in everything that we wanted. That is a construction near the building, but if you keep the A/C on and the window closed, you don't even notice it.

Loved the place. Came back twice. Location is great , 1 min. to the beach. Good services. Beach towels and beach chairs are provided.bag storage is very useful. Free bikes if it is needed. Good breakfast is included . Even a bagged breakfast on the morning of our early trip to the airport.

Room facing internal courtyard of plant including our own. Could hear the condenser every time we turned on the A/C. Currently there is a building adjacent under construction, noise was not an issue but was not notified of this on booking. Walkways off construction would overlook our windows so often had to have curtains drawn. Rented some bikes and enjoyed this however bikes and rusty chains may need some maintenance. These are all minor notes as we would still visit again.

I think it is a bit too expensive for what it offers (room size etc). Also the door card system needs to improve. We had problems using it during the entire stay.

Second time staying in the hotel. Location is unparalleled, staff is super nice and helpful. Breakfast is varied and quite good. They offer a good-quality bike and also umbrella/chairs/towels for the beach, which is very convenient. Overall, quite good!

They could have warned us about the construction happening next to the hotel. I booked a courtyard room for quiet, but it was next to an active construction site.

There is a lot of construction work currently happening around the hotel. The two tall towers behind and next to the hotel are being rebuilt. Construction work is NOISY during the day. When I checked in my first room overlooked a man with a jack hammer drilling a wall less than 2m away from the window. I was moved quickly to another room, but the noise is still clearly heard anywhere in the hotel. The apartment over the road at the front is also has construction work and the small bar on the corner is also being rebuilt. Being in a city this is unavoidable, but beware during the day it’s not serene. The main problem I had was building work actually within the hotel. The air conditioning units are being replaced and the room next door to mine as being worked on. Having guests in rooms while building work is happening within the hotel is unacceptable. Drilling and hammering new air con units into place should not occur when a guest has paid for a room. Reception weren’t aware of this and I was assured the manager would speak to me - I’m still waiting. This let down the service level. I had online meetings to make during my stay and this was difficult with the level of construction noise around and in the hotel.

This was my second stay at Ipanema inn. It’s a great small hotel one block back from the beach. The rooms are small but the location near many restaurants, cafes and bars makes up for this. The staff are all incredibly helpful and made me feel welcome at all times. Shout out to Fred, Marjorie and Joao at reception. Ipanema inn has a tie up with the nearest beach bar 1 min walk from the hotel. Grab a towel from reception and the beach bar will provide you with a parasol and deck chair on the beach. Always great service and it’s an amazing spot to people watch. Breakfast at the hotel was always delicious and as a resident you can choose two options from the wider menu. Ipanema felt totally safe during the day and night. It’s only 2 blocks from the main shopping street in Ipanema so there are always people milling around whenever you want to head out and explore.

Beautiful hotel, great rooms - modern and comfortable. They’re small but you’re so close to the beach so it’s no problem. Breakfast is lovely and the cafe downstairs is great.
