False advertisement: The hotel was not offering tours, despite informing us that they were when asked in advance. The staff gave different excuses - the rain, danger of wild animals, a guest fell off the horse (the real reason was that the tour guide was fired/not available, information we received from a third party, it was low season and they do not organize the tours unless there are 6 people joining. People that came with a private guide could do the tours in the area. I called other hotels in the area and they were offering the tours, despite of the weather (mild rain). W/o tours, there is nothing. To do there Breakfast: All the breads offered were stale, the pao de queijo was raw. On the third day they prepared a juice and offered some fruits. Dinner: when the hotel is full, they cook new food. If you are the only guests, they heat up left overs for you. On our last night we were served left overs from the lunch time. I was not expecting much, but the least I expected was that the food was freshly cooked. The food served was rice, beans, farofa, pasta, salad, red meat/chicken. Rooms: The rooms are claustrophobic, the AC worked half of the time, the shower water was cold all the three days we were there. The hotel does not offer mosquito poison, so make sure to bring your own. WiFi: only available outside of the room and in the restaurant area. Not so comfortable to sit there due to mosquitoes (to be expected in wet season). N.b. The only reason I wanted Wi-Fi was because none of the tours were available. Gladly a group with a private guide staying at the hotel invited us to join their guided tour and saved our stay. Due to an accident while horse back riding this group left. I grew up in brazilian farms and I am not picky. I just wished that the hotel was honest and messaged me in advance informing that they were not offering tours so that I could stay somewhere else. They were very keen in charging the stay well in advance.

The surroundings of the hotel are nice. There is a river where you can see caymans that live by the area. There is also a little fox that lives by the hotel. We could not explore much because there was no staff available for a tour of the place. The location of the hotel is good, in the middle of the Transpantaneira. The room and linens were clean. The staff was friendly.

Could not get a definitive time on the tours we took since the front office had to find the guides. Guide was a bit standoffish - no big deal. Lighting at the lodge at night is too harsh.

Beautiful setting right next to the river filled with caiman. The boat and horseback riding tours were nice. Surprisingly excellent food. Front desk staff and restaurant staff were great. We woke up early and watched a pair of blue macaws. Saw river otters and capaybara on the boat tour. One of the best sunsets I have ever seen on the boatride back to the lodge. A tuiuiu and a couple of kingfishers come to visit the lodge. At night we watched giant bats swooping around over the water. Good view of the Milky Way if you wonder a few minutes away from the lighting and the lodge (bring mosquito repellent). Nice trail to hike and a overlook tower. Get up early to experience the wonder. Most of the tours don't go there since it is further down the Transpantanera. Rent a car at Localiza at the airport to get there (in the dry season). Nice area to play foosball and snooker. Nice pool.
