Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomRooms needs to be better. A slight musty smell in my Room. Which was the Executive Room. More attention required and you don't expect to have a musty smell at a Marriotts Hotel!!! Disappointing the ~Rooms don't come to the standards of the Rest of the hotel. Which was lovely.
The overall hotel was lovely. They however need to maintain the rooms a little better. The room needed a little TLC. not a European Marriott standard we expect. but for Brazil its a 5 star. In the U.k its more a 4 star. However they had a lovely pool and the staff were friendly enough and spoke good enough English. Breakfast was excellent and great selection!

United KingdomThe only issue was at the check in. there is a misaligned between booking and Marriot where they didn’t have the correct rate for my stay. I had to show my booking confirmation and they were very helpful sorting the right value. booking has to fix this issue. I also couldn’t contact them via the app to arrange an early check in. I could see their messages but couldn’t respond the same thread . Thus I had to create a new message every time I wanted to contact them but couldn’t reply back. this has also caused confusion. I ended up having to find their email and arrange it directly with them .
Very pleased with our stay. .it’s a nice and clean Hotel. breakfast was great, staff is very helpfull. It isnot a 5 star hotel. I am just writing that to manage other guest expectations, it’s a bit dated. I would still return. The location is great, just 10 min drive from Guarulhos airport and the pool was a great addition. Gym facility is very good. They have a nail saloon at the hotel which is very handy. Very friendly staff.

Extremely clean, comfy bed + pillows, strong shower, fantastic breakfast buffet (make sure to get the tapioca if you're not familiar with this Brazilian specialty), and exceptional Brazilian hospitality from staff... they take pride in their jobs and it shows! Right next to the airport (but somehow as still quiet) so it is worth staying there before a flight and beat the traffic you'd get coming from the center. I will be back for sure!
