Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Spainnothing really, just maybe a tiny clean sweep to remove sand on the floor in the room…but it’s nothing really! and honestly quite challenging considering that Jeri is a sand place! ;)

GermanyWould have wished for a water filter to refill bottles to cut back on plastic waste. Difficult to get along with English.
One of the nices hostels I stayed during my 3 month travel through Brazil. Clean, well-managed and rather chic indeed. I like the concrete beds (no squeaking whatsoever) and spacious rooms (much bigger than average in Brazil). The bunks have a night-light and an individual plug. Quiet locations, good to sleep undisturbed.

BrazilThe breakfast was good. They offer almost the same options everyday but it's still good. The hostel is located at the main street of the beach village. It's only a 5 minute walk from the central square. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

United StatesIsabel, that works in reception is super friendly and was so helpful in sharing all the information I needed to make my time in Jeri great. She is a very kind and lovely person to be around. The beds are very comfortable. I stayed one night in the mixed dorm and the rest in the girls only dorm. If you’re a girl, I recommend staying in that dorm. The layout of both rooms is fine, but the girls dorm felt more spacious. The breakfast is probably my favorite I’ve had in any hostel. The food is yummy and there is enough variety for even picky eaters. The best time to eat to avoid the breakfast area being busy is right when breakfast starts or right before it ends. Otherwise, it can be a little hard to grab food since it does get busy. The lady’s at breakfast make eggs to order, and the cakes (bolos) they make are sooooo good! The location is convenient. Jeri is small, but some places are not so close to the “center” of Jeri. Villa Chic was just close enough to be able to get to the Main Street in about 3 minutes, but without the feeling of business that being too close brings. When you arrive, make sure you grab the wifi password. There are multiple networks and each one works best in different areas of the hostel. If one network isn’t working for you, try another! I worked for 3 days from the hostel. After breakfast finishes, the tables are mostly empty throughout the day and it’s a mostly quiet area to work. I was able to download short videos for work purposes relatively quickly. If you work while traveling, there aren’t really places in Jeri for this, so staying on a hostel that had this space was good! In all of Jeri during the rainy season flies seem to be a problem during the day. It would be nice if the hostel would look into some ways to try to lessen the flies that are a little too “friendly”. The rooms are cleaned once a day, which is normal for a hostel, but because the number of people in each room is a lot, it would be nice if it was cleaned twice!

ItalyFirst of all: my negative review is due to the price - the same price we paid (25 euros per person) you paid for other pousadas in Jeri like Ronco do Mar or Vila Biju that are 10 times better. This one is a HOSTEL!! Don't go there if you are a couple. We had NO privacy, our bedroom was one meter from the pool and 2 meters from the breakfast tables. At all times, there were drunk people partying in the pool or in the kitchen literally some meters from us. The room was clean when we arrived, but no cleaning service or towel change for 5 days. At the end it was horrible. In other pousadas with the same price they clean the room every day and change the towels every 3. The breakfast is poor and it is outside so full of flies (one in my coffee) and quality and hygiene not very high (dishes washed by everyone with water only....) Again: it is OK if you are a group that wants to party, but I really don't understand how this place can have the same feedback (9.2!!!) as other super high level pousadas here. It is just not fair towards them.
The staff at the reception was very nice and helped us a lot. But unfortunately, this is the only positive thing here.
