Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe food in most of the restaurants was mediocre at best and the prices are crazy expensive. Our best meal was the Shake Shack for lunch. For dinner, stay away from Bimini Road. My daughter got pasta and they brought tomato soup as the sauce, the conch salad was disgusting and was all onion, everything else was fried. In all the restaurants, the service is extremely slow and don't expect your whole family to get their food at the same time. It will come out whenever they feel like bringing it and most of the time it is cold.
The resort is like nothing you have ever seen. It's absolutely amazing. However, they rob you of your money any chance they get. There is an automatic 15% gratuity added onto everything, then they ask for tips over that. When we checked out, they charged us an additional $581 saying that our full deposit was not applied and charged us an additional $50 per child per night on top of the insane amount we already paid for our suite. Then there is the resort fee of $59 per day and the $20 per day gratuity for the room.

United StatesRude and inconsiderate staff. Horrible customer service. People spend a fortune to be here, just to receive a below par service. Besides front desk folks, it seems like everyone else is not interested in providing good service. Everything is extremely overpriced. Management needs to work on their staff and their manners, maybe hire foreign workers who would at least appreciate the fact that they have a job. Some staff are obviously nice, but the rest (which is most of them) are just full of some sort of anger (i mean, be thankful tourism alone carries this entire island, and they treat u like nothing). Below par place. I will go back to Aruba or Fiji, maybe, but Atlantis Bahamas is a hard NO. Place is nice, rides are amazing, beach is clean but overpricing and rudeness of ungrateful employees working there messes up the experience. Not to mention 15% forced gratitutity, no exceptions even for a carry out order.
beautiful beaches. waterpark was really nice.

SwitzerlandI can't say that service at the Atlantis was bad simply because there was NO service at all! Rude and obviously unhappy staff in restaurants, snacks, shops and guest facilities (towels and bracelet) make you feel unwelcome. Customers are just a commodity and the hotel management does everything to make sure they are treated as a cash cow. Overpriced food, overpriced activities, overpriced shopping... poor wifi and freezing TV... All restaurants always fully booked, lines everywhere, no attendance for services or food by the pool or beach areas. The Atlantis is a giant supermarket and the client is just a product. And when you ask to leave early because you are dissatisfied they decide to charge you the full stay and ask you to fill documents and provide proof of your discomfort in order to get MAYBE a portion of your money back after management decides whether you qualify for a refund or not. You are forced to stay with them! To escape this unfriendly environment we ended up going to neighboring hotels for lunches and dinners to avoid the discomfort of the Atlantis. I never felt so much used and powerless to exercise my freedom to leave a place that doesn't live up to my expectations.

United StatesThe property is way overpriced, overcrowded. Not only do you get charged a 15% tax to everything, some will trick you the first days into adding tax as if it isn’t already added in. There is a resort fee of $69 added everyday, they don’t tell you about. The cheapest meal we had for two was a breakfast with 2 croissants and coffee and it was $50. Not worth the money
