Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe staff knows what you need even before you need it! Absolutely fantastic. This was one of our best experiences with truly professional and attentive staff. Property is gorgeous and does not feel crowded evenn at full capacity. The perfect place if you are looking for a quiet hideaway in the jungle.

United StatesWe didn't realize there wasn't any air conditioning. We came in May when the temperature was between 31 to 39 celsius (88 to 102 degrees fahrenheit). It was a little uncomfortable for us.
The area was very nice. I especially enjoyed the bird watching - the guides were very knowledgeable. The service was top notch!

SwitzerlandWe would have appreciated a broader soft drinks menu including freshly blended juices mix (both fruits and vegetables) from the garden. Coffee is below average and tea is not that finest either.
The setting, facilities and kitchen are amazing! The staff is super attentive and caring. We loved our stay.

United StatesOur stay at Blancaneaux was one of, if not the, highlight of our trip. The remote location offering peace and quiet was perfect. The staff was exceptional. Some of the best service we've ever experienced. The staff was aware of iur dietary restrictions and were amazingly hwlpful at mealtimes. Speaking of food, everything we enjoyed was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Belizean meal we had one evening. The property was just splendid. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, kind, and quick to share stories, travel tips, and local history with us. We met some amazing people along the way and can't wait to go back someday!

United KingdomNot really a major problem, but the menu in the main restaurant could be more a bit diverse, we felt that the focus was too much on pizza and pasta.
Amazing location.. amazing views.. amazing people! We loved everything about our stay! The staff were very helpful and supportive with advice on activities to be done; we rented bikes and did a tour to the waterfall. Would definitely recommend the hike, breakfast in the room (which is foc), a visit to the Guatemalan restaurant <3 and the hot pool!

Blancaneaux lodge is the perfect hideaway in the back country of Belize. The hotel is beautiful. We do recommend the villas overlooking the river. The staff is extremely professional and friendly. Perfect location for hiking visiting Tikal or ATM cave. This was our second stay and liked the place just as much as 10 years ago!

United StatesThe only negative would be the bugs. But you are in the rainforest, so bugs are expected. Make sure you pack plenty of bug spray and just know that you can't escape them as the entire resort is open-air. Also, this is not a resort to wear high-heels at as it's very hilly and you have many steps up and down throughout the resort. Bring your flat, comfortable sandals and enjoy the experience.
This resort is spectacular - from the views, to the villas, to the landscape - it will take your breath away. We were overwhelmed with how much there was to see and do, and how lucky we were to be there in such a beautiful environment. Our 2-bedroom villa was clean, had that upscale Central American feel but also took advantage of the rainforest atmosphere. My kids loved the hammocks. We had a deck right outside our villa that overlooked the Privassion River with swimming areas (that you can go tubing down). We loved our excursions to the Rio Frio Cave and Caracol - which everyone should do immediately before it becomes a major tourist attraction. And the hike to Big Rock Waterfall was worth the challenge as you can swim right up the falls. Blancaneaux is a truly unique, gorgeous environment in the rainforest where so many one-of-a-kind adventures await you. The staff was superb and went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Cannot recommend this resort enough!

United StatesThe only downside were the mosquitoes which are to be expected in any jungle paradise. The property has bug spray located throughout should you need it but I would recommend bringing your own that is stronger.
The location is incredible and the facilities are high quality. There were so many activities to choose from, some of which are complimentary, so I was never bored during my stay. The fresh water pool was also amazing and much more rejuvenating than a chlorinated pool that dries out your skin and hair. The property itself is something to explore and the Waterfall Spa is a great amenity that I would have utilized more if I had the time.

This place is paradise! If you love nature, culture, relaxation, this place is for you. I loved the vegetation, having breakfast on our private balcony, going for a swim in the hot pool at night. The staff is also great; we were celebrating a birthday and they prepared a separate place just for us and we didn’t even requested it. I would recommend this place 100%

United StatesBlancaneaux far exceeded my husband and my expectations. The grounds were absolutely spectacular. Extremely beautiful. The rooms are very quaint and perfect for a peaceful, no wifi and relaxing experience. The food was so delicious and fresh and their Garden Restaurant is a MUST! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Exactly what my husband and I needed for our first trip since the pandemic. The only thing to note is that most things are at least an hour away due to the lack of paved roads or construction. Trust me when I tell you that this should not be a deterring factor from staying here. You will be so happy you stayed here and will forget that things are far!
