Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesRoom seemed pretty small for over $800/night. Not a good value at all. The as-promised car service was not available when needed and was very frustrated when I called ahead and it wasn’t there when the front desk said it would be there (called an Uber instead). Also, the maids took my contact lens case from my room, but thankfully the front desk went to go get a replacement.
Restaurants were good, gym was decent, room was clean and bathtub was nice to have.

CanadaThe balcony was horrible. There was a tree right in front and an old run down building. It was not worth the money at all. I could have stayed in another beautiful hotel in Toronto for a fraction of the price. The pool deck was also extremely small and there was not enough space.

SwitzerlandAs a hotel guest you often felt in the way of Torontos young fashionistas who frequented the rooftop bar. Pool has very limited seating and is also shared with the other building residences. Hotel car was not available when we needed it. For the price we paid, the service wasn't at the expected level.
Love the decor, the furnishings, toiletries. Staff were very friendly overall. Nice gym. Upon complaining we were moved to superior rooms which were beautiful. Our first room had a balcony. over the hotel's garbage which was pleasant.

ItalyWe have been awakened by the construction site right below our room when they started to drill at 7 am. We were offered to move to a different room, but we only had one night left and it didn’t worth it for us. Since I payed for the whole stay in advance I was very disappointed they didn’t tell me that our room was right over a construction site. After my insistence, I spoke to the manager that gave me standard replies (she offered me to bring a noise machine in the room that would make a loud white noise to cover the noise from outside!). I only wished they told me the situation so I could have chosen a different hotel, but of course they completely avoided the subject. And also, I’m very into sustainability and the whole green stuff, but what they have here is just a commercial green wash facade, for example they made me pay for what they call “earth bottle” 20 bucks (a 250 ml aluminum bottle with tap water in it) and the keys made out of wood never ever worked, and I was blocked several times in the elevator. Please, stop attracting people with this green wash facade and make normal keys and don’t charge people 20 bucks for water. thanks

Canadasince it’s a newer hotel, it’s clear that there are some kinks that have yet to be ironed out. 2 elevators for a hotel of that size with a rooftop patio open to the public is DEFINITELY not enough - having to wait 5 minutes for an elevator is unacceptable. The wooden fob thing is great in theory and terrible in practice - the wood must prevent the actual fob from swiping and you had to swipe multiple times and press ridiculously hard for it to work. Sometimes when it didn’t work, you had to get staff to swipe it for you. Front desk staff also seemed a bit confused as to what was going on, especially for a wedding. My car was checked with valet but was put another a different name.
The property, ambiance, and rooms are wonderful.

Canadathe pool and rooftop area was a complete mess. no attendants to help seat guests or get them chairs/loungers/food. only like 5 loungers in the whole deck, and they were occupied. it seemed like no one there actually was a guest of the hotel. it’s just a local hangout.

Canadahotel staff unable to provide assistance when guests needed. spent 3 days trying to confirm early check in, arrive at 1pm for them to say they have a room ready, but it took us over an hour to get our rooms because they made a mistake. we let them know this was for a special occasion (bachelorette) nothing was done to make it special and even worse there were so many issues between check in, confusions at check out and what credits are available for large bookings that the primary host spent a large portion of time on site trying to call the front desk/speak with someone and no one ever answered
rooms were comfortable, location and restaurants were (Casa madera and 1 kitchen) amazing

Ordered a bottle of champagne at the hotel bar. Drank half. Requested they re seal for us to carry back to our room. They didn’t have the ability to do so. The manager of the bar was kind enough to comp us another bottle which we were impressed with and not expecting.

CanadaThe roof top pool area was small and the pool water was cloudy with grit from missing pool tiles littering the bottom. The glass shower wall allowed the bathroom light to shine into the bedroom during sleep. The light switches have single area options but didn’t work as such. When I asked the staff questions about amenities they had to ask someone else or check with someone else.
The lounge off of the reception area was very comfortable and well appointed. The use of wood and other natural materials.
