How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The spa is very expensive with costs unclear.
Location is excellent in the historic section. Great shops, restauarants, and activities nearby including vineyard visits. Rooms are very clean and spacious.

The dinner in the restaurant was terrible. 3 of the 4 meals should have been sent back. Would not eat there. Much better food in town.

I did not sleep well because the bed was too soft for my liking. The walls are thin. I heard the guests talking in the joining room and children across the hall. Was breakfast supposed to be included?
Well located to tour the historic town. Hotel is a lovely renovated historic building. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The NOTL bar is excellent.

Only minor issue we encountered was that our room was connected to another room, and privacy felt compromised/limited because of how easily we could hear the people in the other room when they spoke. It did not negatively impact our experience, but I recommend requesting a room that does not connect to another if you are traveling alone / as a couple.
Excellent hotel with plenty of daily amenities to take advantage of: complimentary bike rental, shuttle service to a nearby vineyard of your choice, a discount at the attached Starbucks, and more. Clean room and very comfortable bed. The hydrotherapy circuit at the spa should not be missed! Walk out of the door and onto the main “strip” where shops and restaurants are only steps away.

Prefer a bath to a shower. Asked for ice in the room - took an hour to arrive. Problems with noise which was dealt with, and adequately recompensed by most helpful manager.
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was nice - big bed, nice balcony.

The customer service was exceptional and they tried to make everything about our stay special. We celebrated my moms retirement and helped us to get a more accommodating room and sent us a lovely bottle of champagne. These little touches go a LONG way. Thank you!

I missed a breakfast buffet and a longer opening window - till 11:00 AM, for those who are jet-lagged. Also, instructions for the uninitiated on how to operate the fancy coffee machine would have been helpful.
the location, the layout of the hotel with easy access to underground parking, the nice large room with 2 windows, the comfy bed, and mostly friendly service.

Upon arriving we had no washcloths in either room nor did we have a top sheet on the bed, and our comforter was either soiled or stained. We called the front desk and the bed issue was fixed, never did get washcloths. Also service was just ok on the patio, very friendly but slow and we had to ask for napkins 5 times before we got them. Second time in there it was much better.
Location was excellent, very updated and spacious room, lounge decor was also updated and very nice, secure and ample parking. The room itself was very clean except for the issue mentioned below.

The room we were in was right by the elevator so that was kind of annoying and something in the closet made a lot of noise - plus we were off the Main Street so it really wasn’t super quiet but was still ok
