The breakfast was almost non existent. I looked at it and just went to Tim Hotons. The price was cheap compared to other Hotels so I wasn't that upset even with my Tim Hortons it was cheaper. Also pool doesn't work. No big deal for me but people with kids probably want to play in the pool.

The overall look of the building is that of needing some TLC: Paint, cleaning, etc. There was trash on the ground in the parking lot. The air conditioners, doors, and windows all need work and paint. And, the tables in the room were all sticky with what appeared to be a spilled liquid (like pop, for example) - it was definitely gross. We had to clean the tables ourselves as well as the toilet - it had been used and black pubic hair was on the inside rim. Neither of us have black hairs. We mentioned the tables to the clerk the next morning on check out. We didn't mention that my wife wouldn't get under the sheets on the bed.

The clerk was quick, professional, and very friendly. She took care of our check in very efficiently while she acknowledged another guest and assured him it wouldn't be long. She kept her word and finished our check in with friendly conversation and polite banter. She was a delight.

The Amherst Wandlyn Inn proved to be convenient to the highway and the town. Our room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. In late May, there were few tenants and no breakfast. Town rumor has it that the new owner is converting the very large building to apartments.

I liked everything, though one thing could be added, and that simply would have been some bacon and sausage with the breakfast..

Place looks worn on the outside( which I'm sure will be upgrade), but as soon as you enter, you quickly notice and feel the new vibe. Money is being spent to upgrade. Room was descent and clean, pool area was fantastic, great spot for kids and adults, with all three, pool hot tub, and sauna... .. and as a basketball team, the size and ability to put us all in one area was great, because the kids could run around and not really bother anyone...

The room wasn't as clean as it could have been, sticky spot on floor, dust around the bathroom register. There also were no utensils like spoons or stir sticks with the coffee. Only minor issues really, the staff overall vibe of the hotel outweighed the negatives.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The pool, hottub and sauna were nice. The room was a good size.

Pool and hot tub closed and that was the main reason we booked. Felt duped that it was advertised and we found out it's been closed for months. Breakfast options limited. Only 2 people were staying there. No staff on site after midnight till 6am so we felt somewhat unsafe with nobody watching the car in the parking lot and when going out for a smoke my husband had to hold the door open with his foot otherwise he would've been stuck outside
