Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainMy only issue with it was that there's no elevator. After spending the day walking up and down hills, it wasn't comforting to have to climb a lot of stairs. My room was 3rd floor and the kitchen was in the ba-sement. The afternoon reception staff was so friendly that they didn't hesitate to take my suitcases up the service elevator. However, the girl who was on night shift was short on words and not very pleasant. She didn't help me at all
Great location , just inside the walls in the center of the old city.A short walk distance to anywhere in downtown: popular cultural, historical and tourist sites. I stayed two nights in a mixed shared room with 6 people, all of them very respectful, attentive, silent and charming. Dorm was extremely clean and tidy. I was provided with a decent sized lockable space. It was massive and had a huge comfy bed, big enough for so many people with suitcases and backpacks. It had good heating. In the rest of the common areas, toilets, reception, kitchen, bar, restaurant and others, the heating was appreciated and appreciated, given the low temperatures outside. The wifi works perfectly. Shared showers were comfortable, had hot water and was really clean. There are enough toilets and showers for everyone. I never had to wait to get into them, they were right next to the room. The morning and afternoon reception staff is very attentive, friendly and efficient, always ready to help with suggestions on places to eat and to see. Free coffee in the morning was welcome and kitchen facilities were good. The filling and lavish free breakfast includes plenty of fruit, toast of different types of bread, cereals, jams, butter, juic-es, peanut butter, coffee, tea, different types of milk, eggs, coffe or tea.... The kitchen has a microwave and several refrigerators, to store your own food. It remains open all day and night, to cook, drink coffee in a cosmopolitan and relaxed atmosphere. Very good musical selection always in the background. I will recommend to stay here for a short stay. An unforgettable experience in the beautiful Quebec City region. It is not a luxury experience. Rather guests are rewarded with charm and authenticity that will never be found in a chain hotel. I would not hesitate to stay there again

United StatesThe breakfast was very basic - bread, peanut butter, some fruit, instant oatmeal. The sink where you have to get utensils and wash them is far from the breakfast area in the kitchen. Sometimes only 1 person was working at the front desk, so you might need to wait a bit.
Great location in the old part of Quebec City, about 15 minute walk from the Gare du Palais train station and close to the major attractions (15 minutes to Citadelle du Quebec), 15 minutes walk to Château Frontenac). The hostel offered free tours (tip recommended) of Quebec City around 11AM with an officially certified tourist guide who was quite knowledgeable and informative. There was some construction, but the rooms appeared to be renovated and were very clean and quiet. Coin operated laundry machines are available, you can buy detergent at the front desk. Staff are friendly, especially if you know some basic French phrases.

CanadaThe breakfast wasn't bad, but also nothing to sing praises about. I don't think I would pay for it if it wasn't included in the price. I wished there were bigger bowls in the kitchen!
The location is wonderful! I found the bed comfortable and the sheets and blankets appropriately warm for the room temperature. The bunk beds in my dorm didn't wobble when one person moved on their bed and had a light, power outlet, USB A-charging ports and a small shelf.

United StatesLike many hostels in Quebec and Montreal, you can't control the temperature of your room--the front desk does. Given that it's winter, I had to call to have the temperature adjusted multiple times which I found to be a hassle and at times, frustrating. Depending on where your room is located, the shared bathroom may not be close. It's an older building with multiple flights of stairs--they have an elevator, but guests are not allowed to use it.
This hostel is in a fantastic location right in the heart of QC and just steps away from many landmarks, great restaurants, and nightlife. The staff is kind and is always willing to help.

TaiwanI have traveled to many cities and stayed in many hotels. A hotel would be the best if it had different group activities every day or occasionally. There are no larger bowls in the kitchen, so some people use the small pot as a bowl after cooking instant noodles. This also results in a shortage of small pots, and some people who need to use small pots need to wait until they have finished eating.
Large public space. There are many entertainment facilities (billiards ball, darts, paid-table football), TV room, study room. And a bar and bartender. Big kitchen and fridges. There is free walking tour for exploring old Quebec everyday!

SpainEven being a hostel, it is not cheap, so for the price, we expected more comfortable beds and not having to wash our dishes after breakfast in a crowded kitchen.

United StatesThere's was no curtain for each bed which was really un-private. And I couldn't use the kitchen because of their construction. I'm not sure I would reserve here if I knew this before I booked here.
Good location, good view, good service. To travel Old Quebec, you don't even need to buy a bus ticket. You can see almost everything by walk. Bathroom was also really clean(though it is separated with room).
