Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOverall property seems run down. Staff is courteous but not particularly friendly. Many rules posted and many texts sent detracted from a relaxing stay.
We booked the cedar yurt, which was large and cozy. Enjoyed the wood stove after a rainy day on the sea. Nice selection of books and games to borrow. Beachcombing on property, accessed by tiny ferry boat you pulled across the channel with a rope.

CanadaIt would have been nice if we received a tour or map of the location upon arrival to explain what amenities were available including meals. Paying extra for us of the hot tub out front our yurt was unexpected and pricey. This should've been included in the price.

CanadaThe size of the room. Painters tape over locks. Duct tape holding down carpet in hallway. Hit head every time I got out of bed. Did not like that gratuity was added automatically to our dining bill. Food was overpriced. Picture of room on internet looked larger than it was. Not an accurate representation.
The staff. Property was interesting.

CanadaCleanliness of bathrooms in lodge, shortage of showers and bathrooms, quiet hour at 10pm, access to beach or swimming requires some finesse and walking although fairly private once you get there. Lack of firewood for purchase for campfires so we had to bring our own. Some Yurts are really close together so there’s not much privacy as sound travels. Domes seem to have more privacy for couples or young families. Sunrises are great however there are no sunset views due to the mountains.

CanadaBuckets of cleaning supplies stacked up by the toilet & random stuff piled in corners everywhere doesn't seem like a $200 place to stay. Also a couple of things in the yurt broke as we touched it.

CanadaI have to say that we're not really camping people, so we're not to keen on "back houses" and having to go to a central building to take a shower in a not-so-clean shower... The yurt's mosquito screens were in pretty bad shape and we had many visitors.
The yurt was hand painted and quite pretty. It had electricity and a fan. It was the only affordable accommodation we could find in the area.

United StatesThis place was listed as a four-star resort. It is not. It is a unique communal campground. Had we known what we were going to be experiencing, we would not have booked it. I’m okay with trying new things like this but my boyfriend is not, and the lack of clarity about it all is what irked us and is what brought down my overall rating. I had seen on the Booking site that there were some yurts, but there also seemed to be other regular rooms, which is what I thought I booked. I also do not remember seeing that there were shared bathrooms. If I had, I definitely would not have booked. Regardless, it was all very unclear. Anyway, we were going to be arriving late and while the staff waited for us for a bit (which we appreciated) we were not going to make it in time. (We were stuck trying to find food in a nearby town – another problem in and of itself.) Anyway, the staff told us they had to leave but that they would leave us a note with a map to our yurt. (That was the first I learned that I would be staying in a yurt. Okay, no problem.) However, when we arrived, the directions were extremely unclear and since there are no lights on the dirt paths to the yurts, we couldn't see where we were going. I knocked on three yurts before finally finding ours. (We could not see the yurt name signs because it was so dark. Luckily, we ended up in right one. The yurt itself was tidy and I was all for trying it, but my traveling partner was not. To make matters work, yurt doors do not lock so he couldn’t sleep because he felt he had to be on guard all night. He also almost fell off the rail-less deck when he got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. We had heard that the food was supposed to be very good but, because it costs extra, we didn't stick around to find out and left around 5:45. To sum up, Cabot Shores is a unique communal camping experience. It is not a four-star resort. Clarification on Booking.com would be much appreciated for weary travelers.
I love the idea of this place. It's in a beautiful location and it has the potential to be an incredible and unique experience. I liked that it was a sort of communal place with an organic garden and a compost. Our issue was that nothing about the reality of what this place is was made clear during the booking process and, while I was personally able to "go with it" and appreciated the communal nature of the place, my boyfriend (less open to such things lol) struggled. I felt like it was clean enough for a communal place; he felt that it was filthy. Either way, had we known what we were going to experience, we would have nixed it and chosen a place that we would both have been comfortable in. So to sum up, it’s a unique place but definitely not for everyone. I highly recommend that Cabot Shores work to clarify exactly what kind of place they are on the Booking.com site!

United StatesI don't understand how they are 4 star property all you find in the room is dust, awful smell and cheap furniture including bed. Have to do your own garbage I believe they don't have housekeeping department for cleaning they clean bathrooms just once in a day.. Surrounding is beautiful our rooms light was not working but there was small table lamp hot tub remote and torch was not in working condition either you need to make sure your mobile phone is charged for torch at night it's so dark outside not even a single street lamp for the direction to washroom. Our room was close to Sona and they were doing the cleaning in the morning which was loud and annoying
Location was the only thing attracted me book with Cabot shores.

CanadaThe worst resort I had lived during the trip. We could not park the car outside the yurt however there was not enough public parking slots. The price is higher than the other resorts but can only use shared toilet and shower. No free activities like other resorts and you will have to pay for $35 a day for Kayak. You will have to take the garbage with you otherwise you will be charged with $25. In short, the price could not match with the services provided.
