Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThey changed our reserved room, it was a double and they placed us in a single. We traveled with our pet and we had luggage, it was very uncomfortable, the room was very hot, we should have asked for help about it. They don't really have parking.

CanadaThe shower would benefit from a curved rod the make showering in the small tub space comfortable. Housekeeping did a lovely job but we suggest that 8:30 / 9:00am is too early for rooms to be attended to in the morning. We were barely awake when the knock came to make up the room. Coffee in the room was convenient but perhaps some bottled water should be supplied.
Location was great and the historic feel was lovely. Very clean.

CanadaCould not figure out how to use the TV. It would not let me cast & did not connect to any cable or streaming services. Windows all opened, which was great - but no mesh screens so beware if you have a curious cat (as I do).
Great pet-friendly hotel in the heart of Montreal! Staff were pleasant and accommodating. I was staying with my cat & dog and we had a.big beautiful room on the 4th floor....lots of stairs😅. Please note this location has no elevator! Daily continental breakfast included with stay. Free open WiFi. Working electric fireplace in room.

CanadaThe breakfast planning needs an update. Only one carafe of coffee, a smaller one for hot water…they could easily buy a couple more, there were always people waiting as there is only one person on staff for the breakfast who is trying to keep up with doing everything and won’t stop to make coffee until the dishes are done. (Not their fault). When hot water and coffee came out again, there was an immediate line up as people ate their breakfast without a beverage and then it was empty again. Over 5 days, we went at different times and it was always the same (also no milk for the cereal). Never saw a fork so we used a knife and spoon to eat. No decaf coffee. (But they did provide decaf pods when requested for the room coffee which was very nice.)

BelgiumIt would be a good 3 star hotel but the fourth star is overrated. The "deluxe double room" was very small and I had barely the space to move, with no stand to put my trolley on. The bath was without hairdryer, and for the breakfast they don't have a coffee machine to get a hot chocolate or an expresso if you don't like the default filtered coffee or the tea available in the breakfast room. From a 4 star venue I expected at least a coffee machine and a kitchen to request some beverage like cappuccino or chocolate and a couple of fried eggs. No fresh fruit for the breakfast, just canned fruit and dry raisins, it would be ok for a 3-star but if you want the 4th one you should provide at least some fresh fruit for breakfast.
Good location, nice staff, close to public transport and the airport shuttle stop, clean and quiet room, historical building with nice architecture.

SenegalThe beds are nice, the old building style is what you need in this kind of vacations…
Well to start the welcoming is low, and when you ask for someone to help you with your luggage they look at you like you’re from another planet, then you have to bring down to the reception your bag of laundry as it seems that they don’t know how to collect this directly in the room to avoid embarrassment! Then their bathrooms small and old, the toilets are so close to the walls that you have to be small not to be bother by it or the paper older… The breakfast is a bit of a shame… they over charge you for valet service which could be better also! I will stop there because the rest is maybe me just being me????

PolandThe heating A/C is very loud, as a result, it was hard to sleep. The room was poorly insulated, so it was cold at night. Water was rather cold than warm for the first two days, but they fixed it. No elevator in the building, with a 20 kg luggage a bit difficult. Breakfast contains no vegetables, very limited.
A very spacious and comfortable room. Much bigger than others, I've stayed so far. The location was also perfect.

United StatesHaving a spare Android phone charger at front desk would have been helpful. My room was on chilly side. As much as we fiddled with thermostat, we couldn't get it warmer.
The hotel is in an excellent location. It is very cute and unique. I found rooms to be quiet. Staff English speaking amd pleasant, breakfast great. They went above and beyond for my birthday leaving me a little surprise on the room.
