Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaHotel has one of the oldest elevators in the city that only staff can operate. We used the stairs all the time but you could ask the front desk or text staff to get the elevator if you needed it. Could be tricky if you have mobility issues with stairs
Great little place. Fab location. Lots of character and charm. Awesome room. Staff was amazing.

CanadaA mini fridge would have been extremely helpful. As a pet friendly hotel, we had no where to store our pets wet food, medication, probiotics etc. Not every pet is on dry kibble.
The design was fantastic, beautiful and creative. Smart Design, great use of space.

CanadaA pool table was situated close to my room so there was some noise when being used. I knew when booking the accommodation that the room did not have a fridge, microwave etc.. It was not an issue for me but it might be a negative for some.
My favourite accommodation of the four T.O. hotels I stayed in over the week. This is largely in part of how beautifully decorated the hotel was. Found the Studio Queen spacious for one person. Bed was very comfortable; staff, both at reception and bistro were friendly; and loved the local art displayed in my room and on each floor. Public transit stops in front and across the hotel and there are restaurants (fast food and dine-in) aplenty along Queen W.. There is also a grocery store behind and across from GH.

CanadaIt is downtown Toronto and on a main street and near the train tracks so there’s quite a bit of noise in the night but that’s to be expected! I used my white noise app and would recommend that if you’re a light sleeper :)
The staff was so friendly and accommodating!! We stayed in the corner king room and it was gorgeous!! Bed was super comfortable and room was aesthetically pleasing. Lots nearby including grocery, coffee, wine, banks, food etc.

United StatesMorning construction across the street and a 3am billiard game on the third floor interrupted my night.
The Gladstone is a unique property in a central location representative of its lively and eclectic neighborhood. The staff is attentive and helpful. The attention to detail extends to the art collection displayed throughout the property.

AustraliaVery odd thing, we were told they could not provide a receipt for the room payment as booking.com doesn’t allow them to see what they have charged us? I’ve been using booking.com for years and this is the first time this has happened.
Beautiful old building with a funky lift and lovely period features. Comfy bed and terrific shower. Excellent bar/bistro with great food. Location can’t be beat with a streetcar stop at the front door or walk to local shops full of treasures. Every single staff member was friendly and cheerful, just topped off a delightful stay!

CanadaThe only glitch in our stay was not getting a printed receipt that we need to attach to our Tax Return this year. Our province has granted a 20% tax credit for 'staycations' for staying and supporting hotels, etc. 'at home' instead of heading out of province or country when travelling post pandemic. This was very disappointing for us.
From check in to throughout our stay all was very good. Friendly staff, clean and comfy rooms and great service and food at the bar/restaurant. It is located in a fun neighbourhood with lots of funky little shops and places to eat - 4 French patisseries within a few blocks! Yum!!
