How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel and the rooms are a bit outdated but they seem to be starting renovations.
The location is convenient and the staff were very friendly. Comfortable beds and the place was clean.

We were able to get an early check in which was good .a good location for downtown Vancouver as not far to walk and close to food shops plus easy to catch a taxi to airport or cruise terminal

The beds weren't that comfortable and I would of liked extra blankets in the room. The construction was a bit annoying to arrive but that's not the hotels fault I wouldn't definitely let guests know before hand

Paper cups inadequate. Appears to be doing renovations so a little off putting.

Construction in the area and in front lobby. Be mentally prepared for the drug issues and homelessness in Vancouver-definite hardships amongst the natural beauty of the city. Had to walk to other hotel locations for tour picks due to local construction.
Renovations in front lobby the whole trip-should be quite nice in a couple of weeks. Great location to Yaletown and ferry taxis to Granville Island. Loved going to Hornby Starbucks prior to my walk along the seawall. Close to beaches. City very clean. Access to community bikes very close by.

Hugely over-priced. The number of drug addicts and homeless people swarming around the area like zombies. This comment relates to Vancouver in general. Will not return or recommend Vancouver to friends (or anyone else).
Good mid-city location. Close to public transport. 7-11 across the street. Helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Restaurant on site.

Renovations happening at the as well as road works. Didn’t affect our stay.
Room was large and beds comfortable. Great facilities at rooftop level - guest lounge, kitchen and outdoor area. Guest laundry.

The kitchenette could have been better equipped, some breakfast bowls would have been handy. The drainage of the bath and sink weren't great.
The location was convenient, close to public transport and Granville Island. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice with a desk and table and chairs. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning effective. A bonus was the luggage holders, no suitcases on the floor!

We understand hotel was doing some renovation but elevators needed vacuuming. Would have made for a better presentation.

Getting dated for the cost. Tea/coffee facility in room but only get paper cups. Rooms only serviced every 3 days which is fine for the towels sheets but should re supply the other consumables. Had to ask. Again expected more for $350 per night.
Location was OK. Big room (king).

There was lots of construction around the hotel during the day. There is major construction on the Granville bridge. It wasn't a problem at night but access to parking and drop off was a bit restrictive. It is probably why this excellent hotel was a reasonable price.
The location was excellent. Right on Granville st close to the downtown, shopping and bars and entertainment. It was about a kilometer walk to the nearest large grocery store but there were lots of restaurants in the area. Walking along Davie St was a treat.
